tjbeebe Report post Posted April 24, 2015 I have been told not to mess with the diode route to wire a '99 GC to tow as it is too easy to fry a $3500 module. My concern with adding bulbs to the existing tail lights - is there enough room? Has anyone used this option?
hermanmullins Report post Posted April 25, 2015 TJ, Welcome to the Forum. I have used diodes on three different vehicles with no problem. The diodes allow power to go to the bulb but not let it feed back through the vehicles circuit. I have never been one to modify lights by drilling holes in plastic. dons2346 Report post Posted April 25, 2015 I towed a '00 Jeep GC with the diodes until it got totaled with zero problems in over 100,000 miles of towing. I now tow a '99 Jeep GC with the diodes with zero problems but then again I have only towed it about 10,000 miles.
