St Louis In September: CG Recommendation & What To See

Hello all, we're planning a trip to St Louis in September and have been looking at Camp Grounds. Wife has an event at the Renaissance Hotel at the airport on the 23rd, so we want to be fairly close to that, but plan to make a multiday trip of it and see some local sights while there.

The Casino Queen RV Park looks centrally located and convenient, and the Cahokia RV Park looks pretty, but would like opinions from people that have actually stayed at these or other places in that area lately.

Also, any insight on "must see" things in the area would be greatly appreciated. We're coming from east-central Kansas so you'll have an idea of our route.

I looked back to 2012 and I saw nothing on the Casino Queen Park. I saw good reviews on it, but it must have been another website.

Did you guys find a good place to stay? We are going November 19th & 20th. Do you know anything about St. Louis RV Park? They are 5 minutes from Scottrade Center where we are going to see Dead & Company.

I live in St. Charles which is in west county. About 15 miles from downtown. There is a really nice park in St. Peters (next door) called 370 Lakeside which is new and very nice. This is the best park in the St. Louis area. Don't worry about the drive to downtown, it's not that bad.

St. Louis RV Park is in north downtown St. Louis and not a good area. (does Ferguson ring a bell?) Yes the park is fenced, and the police station is across the street, but the park is nothing more than a city block of concrete with RV's parking on it.

The casino RV park is across the Mississippi River in East St. Louis, Ill. This is another Ferguson on steroids. Come west young man!
