astmi Report post Posted September 12, 2015 My motor home is equipped with a Thetford Aria plus toilet. This a 100% electric toilet. My problem is that every 2 years or so I have to replace the mechanism (i.e the module that opens and closes the toilet) The module costs +/- 200$ I intend to replace the toilet by a totally mechanical toilet (no electronic) that would fit in the same place. Had anyone ever tried that?
kaypsmith Report post Posted September 13, 2015 One would need to know if the holding tank is directly below the toilet. If it is, should be no problem at all. If not, the replacement to mechanical would not be likely, as most electric ones were placed there because there would not be a way to get the waste to the holding tank. jleamont Report post Posted September 14, 2015 We have the same toilet. I wanted to replace it last year when our valve failed. I found the mounting flange was larger than a standard RV toliet. I opted to fix it and see where it goes. If you figure out the puzzle please let me know.
