cmarq Report post Posted October 23, 2015 I have a 2003 Pace Arrow with a Dometic NDR1292 side by side refer/freezer the cooling unit is gone. I am looking for input from people that have had a rebuilt cooling unit installed. Have you had problems or not. I know the consensus is a new Amish unit is the best. But there is a big price difference and that is an issue to me. Thanks.
desertdeals69 Report post Posted October 24, 2015 I would go with an Amish unit and install a ARP controller to monitor the boiler tube from getting too hot if the unit is not level.
zorro2kita Report post Posted October 24, 2015 What is the leveling issue? Front to back or side to side??
desertdeals69 Report post Posted October 24, 2015 When you are not level parked or go up or down roads that are 2+ degrees, the gravity feed on the refrigerator is impeded causing the boiler to overheat. This condition causes cumulative damage which could lead to failure of the cooling unit.
zorro2kita Report post Posted October 24, 2015 Desertdeals69 - thanks for the info --how could they design a unit with such small tolerances ?
chp007kd40 Report post Posted October 24, 2015 I agree with the Amish unit and the ARP heat control. I have had mine for 2 years and working fine. What I did find was the tolerances around the fridge were not adhered to by the factory so I fixed that also. I think the leveling tolerances have to do with heat and gravity, making it a little difficult to be spot-on and that is why the ARP unit is helpful.
