Peggy Headrick Report post Posted November 22, 2015 Our sofa sleeper air mattress pump stops before mattress is full. It should automatically stop on its own. We noticed that the pump is damaged which is causing it to stop filling with air. We were told we have to replace the whole air mattress and was wondering if we can buy any kind of air mattress. I can't find any information on line regarding this topic. Does anyone have any suggestions on replacing an air mattress for a sofa sleeper. Thanks, Peggy
CarlAda Report post Posted November 22, 2015 I have replaced an air mattress for a leak. Previous and current mattresses both required several cycles of the pump before the mattress was filled to the comfort level that I wanted. I don't think you have a problem. This is where I bought my replacement Air Dream mattress: http://www.sofasleepermattress.com/air-dream-ultra-replacement-air-chamber/
Peggy Headrick Report post Posted November 22, 2015 Thanks for the recommendation. I wish we didn't have a problem, but the seal around the pump unit has separated which is causing the problem and we don't think we can fix it. I wish we could, because the mattress is in great condition and has only been used 3 times. We'll probably buy a new air mattress and try to fix the damaged pump seal on the original air mattress. No harm done if we make it worse.
huffypuff Report post Posted November 23, 2015 Is it a seal on the pump or mattress? I fill mine with a Coleman portable pump and the one way valve and plug is on the mattress. The pump don't have a a seal on it as per picture in this link. http://www.target.com/p/coleman-high-performance-electric-pump/-/A-11115253
