chuckwagon Report post Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) Has anyone towed a 2013 Mazda 2? I don't see it listed in the towing guide. It has a manual transmission. I have towed it for 40000 miles and never had a problem. Edited March 1 by chuckwagon
CarlAda Report post Posted January 28, 2016 According to Remco, who make pumps for towing various vehicles, your vehicle cannot be flat towed.
hermanmullins Report post Posted January 28, 2016 Chuck, I would also check with several of the Tow Bar manufacturers to see if they even make a tow bar for the 2013 Mazda 2. Even though some vehicles have manual transmissions, that doesn't mean they can be towed 4 down (flat). Many need the primary shaft turning for lubrication purposes. I'm not sure that Remco has a pump for a manual transmission but I'm sure they can make a drive shaft disconnect. Herman
wolfe10 Report post Posted January 31, 2016 "Towing 4 wheels down" can be "not approved" for two reasons: Mechanical reasons. Liability/legal reasons. Mazda has never (to my knowledge) approved towing, though some of the mechanically identical Ford models were. Sorry, I do not known which makes the Mazda 2 "recommended not towable".
