s2swift Report post Posted May 10, 2016 We are planning a trip to the San Francisco area in our 45 ft motorhome. Can anyone recommend a good place in the area for a week or two stay that will accommodate our coach? Thanks
RodgerS Report post Posted May 10, 2016 My recommendation is to locate a place (for rent) to stay (extended stay) in Solano County, which is halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. Then use your car to access, like the spokes of a wheel, San Francisco, Napa and Yountville, Walnut Creek, Benicia, and the coastal areas north of San Francisco. Leave the MH at home. tbutler Report post Posted May 10, 2016 Candlestick Park is in San Francisco. The link is for RV Park Reviews. It has been many years since we stayed there. It is on the grounds of Candlestick Park which used to be the home park of the San Francisco Giants baseball team. We found it to be a well cared for park capable of accommodating large motor homes. If you are going to be primarily spending your time in San Francisco, it may be worth your money to be in town rather than driving in from somewhere else. I hate the drive into and out of the city. The park is expensive by any measure, $80 to $90. Public transportation is available or you can take your toad for trips around town. We used both while there. It is the only park in or close to San Francisco. Balance the cost of the park vs. your time and the hassle and cost of driving from 40 or 50 miles away each direction and parking your car, etc.
campcop Report post Posted May 10, 2016 When we visited SF a couple of years ago, we stayed in Pacifica at a park on the ocean, San Fransisco RV resort, it's $$ and basically a large parking lot, pull thrus but right on the ocean, great sleeping and views.. We then took the BART into the city each day, a whole lot easier than fighting that traffic.
