  1. I’m upset at the increase of fuel cost, I’m no longer going to buy fuel

Im upset at the increase of health insurance, I’m no longer going to buy insurance.

I’m upset at the cost of campground fees, I’m no longer going to camp, I’ll just park my rig in one place

    Etc, etc etc

  2. Well after speaking to the manufacturer I have been advised that the latex mattress is much more firm than the gell foam. I don’t want a soft mattress but don’t want a real hard one either. I have ordered the 5.5 inch RV King (80x72) with an extra 3 inch of foam for a total of 8 inches of gell. It’s 1.5 inch of soft gell 3.5 inches of medium and 3.5 inches of firm gell on the bottom. The hinge is made of fabric so no worries of feeling it. All is covered with an organic topper. It will take 7-10 days to arrive and I will let you know how it feels when I get it. Even tho it’s considered a custom order I got it for under $600. Free shipping via FedEx.

  3. I have a 2015 Itasca 42 QD that came with a air mattress that needs to be replaced. The air bag leeks, the pump is intermittent and the foam box the air bag sits in is coming apart. I do not want to replace it with another air mattress. After doing some research I have found a company called Mattress Insider that is highly recommended. They have a gel foam mattress and a latex mattress. Not sure which to get. Has anyone purchased a mattress from this company and if so which one, the gel foam or the latex? Also in order to bring the bedroom slide in I have to raise the head of the bed. Will either be able to fold a little to bring up the head of the bed. The manufacturer says they can put a hindge in the bed but I’m afraid I will feel the hinge while sleeping on the bed and would rather not have a hinge installed in the mattress. Thanks in advance for all your replies.

  4. Bretz RV is always booked months in advance and is expensive. Try going on rvservicereviews.com, or call a few campgrounds for a recommendation. When I stayed at Ambassador RV Resort in Caldwell they revered me to a good mobile tech but I don’t remember his name. Also as per the Aqua Hot, go on their web site and click in your location for a certified Aqua Hot tech. There is a mobile one in the area. Don’t let anyone work on your Aqua Hot who is not trained by them.

  5. I have DirecTv now but had Dish in the past. As I recall you can set up a favorites list on your channel selector so that you only get the channels you programmed in when you hit the channel search button. I believe you can have multiple favorite lists, ie: one for husband, one for wife, one for sports channels etc.

  6. I am thinking of visiting Mathews Arm camp ground in Shenandoah NP in May 2020.  I have a 42 foot Class A pulling a Jeep Wrangler. Has anyone with a big rig driven there? Any problems with access especially on Skyline Dr? It looks like the north entrance is no problem. I have heard that there is a tunnel going in from the south

  7. I had Sirius/XM for several years. They always renewed me at $5 a month, $60 for the year. I finally canceled and now use Pandora for free. Pandora also has a $5 a month no commercial offer but they have very few commercials on the free site so I just use that.

  8. For many years I had Allied, a division of Nationwide, thru Miller Insurance as my broker. Three years ago my premium skyrocketed. Miller advised me that Nationwide no longer wanted the RV business. I had my tow vehicle, harley an umbrella and three rental properties with them too. I am full time with a So Dakota address, excellent driving record and excellent credit. State Farm, Liberty Mutual and Safeco a subsidiary of Liberty would not write full time coverage, at least with a SD address. After shopping around I went with Geico. I saved a lot of $$$.

  9. There are many good camp grounds in the area. Rafter J in Hill City is popular and just down the road from Mt Rushmore. There is also a KOA nearby as well as a KOA in Rapid City and Custer. Custer State Park is a must see and they have many camp grounds for about $25 a night. They are electric only but each camp ground has a place to hook up a hose and fill your fresh water tank and the Park has a dump station. For your size rig I would stay in Game Lodge, Grace Coolidge or Legion Lake Camp Grounds. Reservations are a must in the summer. For more info go on campgroundreviews.com.

  10. It depends on the insurance company. Some do consider it a claim and may raise your premium at renewal time. Some do not not consider it a claim. But having separate RA designed for RVs is good to have because some insurance towing will send someone who will not be able tow an RV, nor be able to change a tire on an RV.

  11. I am in central FL for the winter and will be heading north sometime April/May. On my bucket list is to go to as many Civil War Battlefields as I can. I have been to Gettysburg several times in the past. Stopped at Vicksburg on my way to FL. I want to go to VA and see the battlefields there. Manssas, Appomattox Courthouse, Antietan, Harpers Ferry, Bull Run etc. What other ones should I visit? What campgrounds are in the area? I would like to camp at one spot for several days and take in as many as I can and then move to another campground for a few days and see the battlefields near by the new campground.

  12. I purchased my 2015 Itasca 42QD used. It’s the same as the Winnebago Tour. It had a DirecTv Travler already installed on the roof near the front. I like having it near to front because many campsites have trees that block the satellite but often the front of the site is clear. As you back in you go under the trees. Only had a few sites that were a problem. If the dish was in the middle or rear of the roof there would have been more problem campsites.

  13. I had used the Good Sam Flying J discount program paying at the pump in the past. Got about .06 cents off. Recently I got the TSD Logistics discount and have been going to Loves. Have used it 3 times now and got nearly $45 off each fillup or about .45 cents a gallon. Don’t need to drive around and find a station with old fuel and hard to maneuver within to pay less.

  14. The FMCA plan states that it will cover no charges for any aspect of mobilemechanic services.

Thats because it is a Roadside Assistance Plan not a Extended Service Plan. It will cover towing for a breakdown to a shop that will do the repairs. If you want the repairs covered you need to purchase a Service Plan (extended warranty) in addition to the RA.

  15. FMCA does not sell or have a roadside service. They only endorse SafeRide and get a discount for its members. The problems you are having should not happen and it is SafeRide who is dropping the ball. You should contact FMCA Corporate and get them to back you up with your claim against SafeRide. With all the members purchasing SafeRide thru FMCA, FMCA has more pull than you as an individual.
