Have you contacted Winnebago for assistance? Also, havd you registered with them as a 2nd owner?

If not go to the Winnebago website (winnebagoind.com), click on "resources", click on ""second owner registration".  Have your MH's Winnebago serial number handy. Can be found in driverside doir plate.

Oncd done, call or email, you may be surprised at what they know about your coach.

  2. We have travelled the route several times on our way to BC.

Very scenic but yes it is a very slow route, mainly because it is mostly a 2 lane highway, lots of truck traffic, 80-90  km/hr speed limit, and limited passing opportunities.  it is also quite hilly in spots which really slows the truck traffic.

You should also be mindful of the higher price of fuel in Northern Ontario.  Gas is currently funning around $1.12 to 1.21 a liter.   (there are 3.78 Liters in a US gallon)  So you can expect to spend more.

  3. About 10 years back we stayed at the Yosemite West / Mariposa KOA, 6323 Highway 140, Midpines, CA. 95345

it is just outside the park and a quick drive in for sightseeing.

They can accommodate your 40 foot no problem.  full hook ups, $55 - 65 I think.

This is a very busy park during the summer months so vacancy could be an issue from here to October,,

  4. Lots of very cumbersome logistics behind this one that would likely kill it.  in addition gas and diesel are very reasonable $$ right now which kind of kills the economic benefit today.

Off the top; questions that come to mind.....

    • would there be a standardized trailer that one would have to purchase in order to be eligible to swap?
    • what is you ended up swapping for a trailer with an older battery that doesn't have the range left in it? what is the trailer is years older than yours and the tires are iffy?
    • who pays to refurbish or replace the batteries as they become obsolete?
    • who pays for the electric to recharge
    • if the trailer weighed over a few thousand lbs, then all motorhomes would need a brake controller or all trailers would need hydraulic brakes
    • how much would the trailer be to purchase including batteries?  I am thinking big $$'s
    • if one is towing a battery trailer, how does one also to a toad?
    • wouldn't a campground offering these trailers for swap need a large parking/storage area in addition to what they already have?
    • won't said campground have to substantially upgrade their electric to support?

Just a few issues that would have to be sorted and likely the capital investment cost in relation to the number of electric RV's out there combined with the lengthy payback period, would be huge obstacles.

  5. I just order the replacement topper awnings from the coach manufacturer, in this case Winnebago, and then have them installed at a local dealer.

no issues and not overly expensive.

Just did one, $200 for the topper, $100 for installation,,suppose I could have saved the $100 and installed myself but I didn't want the hassle,,

  6. We have basement air in our 2010 Itasca Suncruiser and absolutely love it!

It works very well, keeps the coach cool in the warmest weather including southern states in the summer time, and is much quieter than roof top mounted.

Cant speak to those who have had issues with, could be a coach by coach manufacturing issue,,,,

  7. RPStewart,

FlyingJ  locations offer RV filling islands that will accommodate your RV and toad. We frequent them almost exclusively when travelling. Gas prices are usually her competitive. Sign up for the Pilot rewards card and get further savings.

You can find the nearest location by simply using the MyPilot/FlyingJ or BigTruckStops Ap. Both are available for Android or iPhone.

    Enjoy your travels...

  8. The Mrs. follows Clint Bowyer and is hoping for a comeback this year.  I am a Jimmie Johnson fan, have been for over 12 years.  I also follow Kyle Larson and Dale Jr.

We have attended races at over a dozen tracks and hope to eventually get to them all.  We have tickets to 5 that we haven't been to this fall.  Chicagoland, Darlington, Kansas, Martinsville and Richmond.

    enjoying the season so far..
