I usually only use manual shifting when I am in an area with slight grades. There is a certain grade where the transmission tends to shift up and down more than I like and I will usually shift down to 5th. I know it does not hurt the transmission but my personal preference is to use 5th because the automatic shifting tends to bug me.

We were NOT notified that our mailbox was being closed as stated by JYeatts. We only received a refund with no explanation.

There may have been notices on the forum but I do not read every topic and to me it would have been common courtesy to notify the users in some way besides a check for a refund with no other explanation. We have arranged with our neighbors to provide our own private forwarding service.

It would have been nice if FMCA would have had some notification that the mail forwarding service had been discontinued. Instead all I got was a check with the description MAIL FORWARDING REFUND with no further explanation. It is my understanding that the mail forwarding employees Were not given any warning either with no opportunity to transfer to the service that FMCA seems to recommend.

Normally I winterize my motorhome myself and in the past now problem. Last fall I had Shorewood RV in Ramsey Minnesota do the winterization. During last winter's Polar Vortex my fresh water system froze with extensive damage. Shorewood's solution was to change one O-ring. They refused to let me show their technician the problems I knew existed. I took the motor home to another repair facility and because it is older it took all summer and a lot of money to fix all the problems. My question is - what can I do about Shorewood's incompetence? I have a feeling that is a battle I could not win.

I don't believe the campground on North Padre has much in the way of hook ups. Mustang Island State north of Padre has electric and water and maybe a couple of sewer. We stay in state parks and I can not give much info on private cg's. You are limited to 2 weeks in Texas state parks.

I think knowing when it is safe to change lanes will come with experience. Personally I don't like to use the camera as it adds just one more thing to watch (almost like distracted driving). To each his own.

Whatever brand you choose be sure it protects against low voltage. I have found that to be a problem in many parks and low voltage can do as much or more damage than high voltage surges.

I think your experience may be common. The electric is adequate but for really hot water we have to turn on the propane but it doesn't take too long if the water is already "hot" with the electric.

We use the Baby Q from Weber but be aware there are 2 models available. The model 120 has a higher dome lid and has a thermometer. When we bought ours it was a little hard to find and I'm glad we did the search. Lowes had it but only by special order. We have tried several and I am convinced there is no "best" grill but this one meets our needs.

The benefit for us was that the Norcold died and the residential was a fraction of what a replacement Norcold or other RV frig would have been. Norcolds have a habit of dying. When we had it replaced there was a Norcold graveyard with 5 Norcolds.

The thing to watch for in a residential refrig is that the motor will tolerate the modified square wave generated by many inverters. The Samsung is one that will.

Rubber valve stems can be a problem. My sensors would loosen as I drove. You can get along by religiously checking and tightening the sensors every day. I replaced my rubber stems with metal. I still check them regularly but they have not loosened themselves since.
The ones that loosened with the rubber stems were always the ones on the right (passenger) side.
A caution with metal stems. The metal used tends to corrode more readily, so be sure to loosen the sensors periodically or you won't be able to remove them. I was cautioned about this by the Costco tire technician when I had the metal stems installed.

Ah, this is a great question. 5W owners are usually very biased as are class A owners. As this is an organization for Motor Home owners I would expect that bias to show. Having never owned a 5W I can't speak to the advantages. For what it's worth I thoroughly enjoy owning a coach.

Go to the plumbing section of a big box store and look at the end caps for the various sizes of PVC. cutting a slot so the cap slices under the brake button will work but use you ingenuity. Many of the other suggestions will work too.

I don't go to the Mall of America but some say it is a don't miss.

On my Roadmaster, backing up would not work. If neither side was locked the bars would compress with possible damage. If one side was lacked the other would not on backing up. I pull forward gently and then physically get out and check if it locked properly. Backing the toad up will work IF things are lined up perfectly.

I don't know if there is a "best" that would satisfy everyone. I have used TST for many years. TST is not perfect but it has been a life saver a number of times.

We are partial to Lake Louisa State Park. It has large sites although the full hook up sites are hard to come by without reservations a long time in advance. It is about 15 miles (easy drive) from Disneyland but you can see the aerial fireworks. The park is about 5000 acres and has about 25 miles of hiking trails. There are super cabins that sleep six available should you have visitors during your stay.

I have TST and have had good performance. While the readings may not be dead on against a manual tire gauge, I feel much safer knowing I will be alerted if there is a tire problem especially on the toad.
