I was looking at the Roadmaster system, which uses a removable pneumatic cylinder in the cab. If I read correctly, the M&G system only works on vehicles with a brake booster and my truck has a hydraboost brake system. I will have too call and check with them.

Thanks jleamont. Did you install or had it installed?

Thanks Manholt, I Appreciate your input. I read about an auxiliary brake system that works off of the air brakes on the MH. I understand the brakes in the toad are applied by a pneumatic cylinder. Does anyone have any experience with such a system?

Thanks Bill, I appreciate your feedback. If we stay in one location for an extended time, a rental is fine. But on a trip where we move every couple of days, a rental is kind of a pain.

Thanks. I was kind of worried about that, but it is currently the only thing I own that is flat towable. I have never towed a vehicle, we usually just rent one, but it sure would be nice.

I am thinking about towing my 3500hd 4x4. My 06 Charleston is 39 feet long and has a 330hp Mercedes Benz diesel. According to specs, should be able to tow up to 10,000 lbs, and my truck weight is about 8,000 lbs. I would appreciate any comments or information on this idea.

As I stated, I only added a couple of ounces to the reservoir, so it wasn't empty. It is a small reservoir and I guess the pump may have cavitated and pumped air bubbles into the system. In any case, that seems to have corrected the issue for now and I will continue to monitor. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions.

So true, thanks.

Upon closer inspection, I found the reservoir to be slightly low. Added a couple of ounces of fluid and cycled it in and out several times. This seems to have solved the problem but I will watch it for a while. Really surprised the fluid level is that critical, but I guess it was allowing air into the system. Thanks for all the information and input, I appreciate it very much.

Hello all, I have been reading here for about a year and finally decided to join in. I have owned motorhomes for about 25 years and my wife and I love to camp, just don't get to do enough of it. We currently drive a 2006 Forest River Charleston 400QS and have owned it for about a year. I'm looking forward to interacting with other members here and have a lot to learn.

Thanks Rich for the information. She found an independent diesel shop near where she broke down and was able to plug in there tonight and they will check out the problem in the morning. Hope it isn't too serious and they are able to get her going quickly, keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks again Ronnie

Wife brokedown in Sweetwater, Tn. I think the pulley on the water pump broke. I was wondering if anyone could refer me to a truck center or road tech. in that area who could work on a Cummins engine. Thanks Ronnie

Thanks guys for the input. I appreciate it very much and will check with freightliner for more information. Thanks Ronnie

I was wondering if aynone could give me the pros and cons on a 2000 freightliner chassis. I currently have a roadmaster chassis and I am looking at a 2000 37' Fleetwood Discovery on a freightliner chassis. I know there were issues with the Roadmaster trailing arms and a few other issues, but don't know anything about Freighliner. Any information. good and bad will be appreciated Thanks Ronnie

Thanks everyone. I found the video and did more research. Sounds like the new Amish unit is the way to go and installation seem relatively easy. I think that is probably the way to go. Thanks Ronnie

Thank you very much for the info. Looks like a straight forward application and something I think I can handle. Also much cheaper than replaceing the frig. Thanks Ronnie

I have a Norcold N821 frig in my 2000 HR. Last weekend on a trip it quit working on either propane or AC. Heats up but no cold, must be the cooling unit. I found an aftermarket galvanized cooling unit for $350 and was told it was a rather simple change out. I have been an auto mechanic all my life and had my own shop for 22 years, so I'm pretty good at using tools, and I was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experience with changing one? Thanks for any input POS or NEG. Ronnie

I have the 507 system and without extensions, I think it would be very dificult to install the sensors on the the inside tires. Ronnie

Thanks for the info. I did contact Holiday Rambler and it seems they have a 58 gallon tank available, and I have room to put the tank just forward of the existing tank. All I have to do is fabricate a mounting bracket and do some plumbing. I haven't decided whether to replace the existing tank or add a second tank, but either way, I should have plenty of capacity. Thanks Ronnie

Thanks Desertdeals69, that sound like the solution I am leaning toward. I have an Onan 6300 gen also, but it uses about 1 gal per hour with the A/C on. Where did you find your auxiliary tank, and were there any modifications other than plumbing involved in the install? That would double my capacity and would probably solve my problem. How did you solve the refill aspect on the auxiliary, do you fill your tanks individually or are they connected together? Thanks Ronnie

Thanks for the information. The "stay a while" kit is not really an option, the tank is mounted between the rails and not easily accessible. I have thought about mounting an additional tank, but I don't think I have enough room for any kind of substantial additional tank. I was thinking of trying to find a larger capacity tank and replacing the existing tank, depending on the dimensions of the larger tank. I was hoping someone had a similar problem and had found a solution already. I think I would need about an 80 gallon capacity tank. Thanks Ronnie

Hello, everyone. I have been watching this forum for several months and find it very informative. Now I have a question and was hoping someone might be able to give me some advice. About three months ago my wife and I purchased our first diesel motorhome. We have always had gas units prior to this one. This unit has a propane generator and a 38-gallon propane tank. We do a lot of free camping and 30 gallons of propane just doesn't last very long, about 30 hours. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to extend our propane capacity? Thanks. Ronnie
