One thing to consider is your drivers license. Ohio will not allow you to use Round Bottom Road as your address for your drivers license since it is a business and not a residence. I think all the states are stricter on this since 9/11. We were refused renewal of our Ohio drivers licenses because we wanted to use the FMCA mailing address as our new address. We have since become Florida residents.

Campgrounds on SE Coast
pdhardin@gmail.com replied to ronandanne@power-net.net's topic in Campgrounds
We have stayed at Ocean Lakes in S Myrtle Beach for several years. We have always enjoyed the park. In April 0f 2010 we have reservations at Pirate Land just for a change of scenery. We do take the Grand Daughter with us. We have visited the KOA in Myrtle Beach, but prefer Ocean lakes. We travel in a 40' Phaeton. -
Herman.....I believe the air mail was the more difficult. LOL Road Dog

Windshield Covers - Keeping The Heat Out
pdhardin@gmail.com replied to dlpitt@cox.net's topic in Type A motorhomes
dilpitt.....I recently purchased and had installed a 4 piece set of black exterior shades by MCD. So far I am very pleased with them. They help with the heat build-up from the front windshield and they look good when installed. I have now ordered the wheel covers from MCD. I should receive them in a couple of weeks. Good luck on your decision. Road Dog -
Wayne.....Good luck on your surgery. Our prayers and thoughts will be with you. Road Dog

We agree - it's not one of the nicer military campgrounds - but we only stayed two nights as part of our trip west. Sites were a bit tight and we had no sewer, the grounds could have used some better maintenance, but we did hear that there were plans to expand the campground into the nearby temporary housing. If that's true, Scott could become a lot nicer place to stay. We did meet some nice folks and enjoyed the base. Road Dog

We just returned from a 6 week trip to Santa Fe, then to Florida. We stayed at several military bases along the way. They included Wright Patterson AFB, there we visited the museums. After that we stayed at Scott AFB for 2 nights, then to Tinker AFB, there we visited the Oklahoma City bombing site and Toby Keith's restaurant. (Toby offers a free meal for Veterans.) Then from Santa Fe to Florida we stayed at Little Rock AFB. Our last base from Florida to Ohio was Kings Bay Sub Base in southern GA. Our first choice in traveling is to stay on military bases. Our winter trip will be a month at Ft Benning, GA, a month at Ft Sam Houston, TX and several more bases before we get back home in May. If you are eligible, you need to try military campgrounds. I also have the Cobra 75. My antenna was already installed by the factory. The Cobra is simple and has worked well for me. Road Dog

Wayne you and SEAJAY have it all figured out. The thing is I've used all of your suggestions, but I used a back pack blower and it knocked things over and the DW wasn't impressed at all. LOL Have fun guys, Road Dog

Wayne, Great song. I've listened to it many times. I ride with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and we place a wreath every Saturday before Memorial Day at the Wall. It's an emotional experience riding over the bridge 100+ motorcycles strong approaching the Wall. Most of us Combat Vets personally knew someone whose name is carved there. In my billfold I carry the names of three of my class mates, one of them my best friend, who were KIA in Vietnam. We're in Santa Fe now and this week I'm taking my DW to visit Angel Fire, the memorial a doctor built for his son KIA in Vietnam. I've been there before and it's a must-see for any Vietnam veteran. Freedom isn't free. Road Dog

We saw Christopher James and the Showstoppers - he's a great comedian and the Showstoppers is a group of two young men and two young women who sing, dance and do amazing costume changes to all the great Broadway show tunes. We really enjoyed the show. Today we left Tinker and just arrived in Amarillo - Oasis RV Resort west of Amarillo on I-40 for two days, then we'll be on to Santa Fe. This is a nice large park, all level paved sites with very reasonable rates and a desert look. Only hitch is they initially put us next to an atypical FMCA camper, a real lady "B" who was using our site's cable and unkindly instructed us not to use the site - like we were the ones with the problem! We got ourselves another site far, far away from her. Life's too short for that...
