I know that Willie Nelson's bus was stopped on I-20, in Louisiana, I guess for excess "smoke" coming from the interior, and the driver ticketed for having "an illegal substance" in his possession. That was a first, for having a mh stopped in this state, other than weaving or some other obvious violation. ,

I have towed both ways, and of course, the easiest is 4 down. With that been said, it's your decision which way to go. With the trailer, as was said, do you have room to park with it attached at an overnite spot(or unload and remote park), how easy is it to load the vecicle and tie down. Again, weather plays a part in this, hot-cold-wet-dry, etc. Also, age(yours), is a factor. If non of this is a concern, than a trailer is the way to go. Use some kind of protection on the front of the trailer to help rock chips and debris from the vehicle.

As your moderator has said and Bill, also, there are many variables in fuel mileage. In your case, there are many "tuner" kits out there for your engine, that will give you more mileage and power. It all depends on your wallet, and how much do you use it.

I have always carried a spare, and hopefully never need it. My tires are not easy to find(12Rx22.5), so I feel better with one onboard. It lays on the roof, and I carry a crane to lower it. It also is covered. A lot of this is personal preference and where you travel. Oh, and most important is the size of tire. In other words, are they easy to find.

I have used Goodyear and Toyo on my coach (1990 Wanderlodge) with no problems, BUT, as everyone said, you have to keep alignment and inflation in mind. My coach is heavy (48000 lbs) so I watch inflation carefully(with tire monitors). Some people swear by a certain brand, and some people swear at a certain brand, but it all boils down to what you like. It's just like buying a car, there are many brands out there, it's what you like. There will always be failures, and there will always be successes. At the end of the day, it's your choice, and your dollar.
