I also have the same issue…I may either rent a “safe deposit box” at a nearby bank, explaining my issue to the bank officer, or perhaps one of the “lock boxes” in the bus station, train station, etc. As a let resort, the nearest police stain at the border would likely hold it in safe keeping. I have a Jeep 2007 Commander (new owner) and also just replaced the transfer case motor. Has any other Commander owners experienced the same problem? This doesn’t sound good for those who own these vehicles. Is this suddenly a new problem or has it been around a while?
