Can any of you recommend a good oil change place in the Inland Empire in CA? We do not want to go to the dealer and we are having a hard time locating a place. We did find Camping World but just wondered about others?
-
We heard that after a trip you should care for the slideouts with a spray to keep them from drying out. Do any of you use a particular one that you like better than others?

I say fly the flag every day, we still have wonderfull young people fighting and dying for our nation every day and we need to stand behind them.
We fly a smaller flag every day and a big one on 9/11 and holidays.

In my question about changing the oil every 5,000 miles, Seajay mentioned that there might be other tips to do before you park your coach for an extended time. I think these would be useful for many of us. If anyone would care to share I feel this would be a good informational topic. We have a 2 acre property at our home so we store the motor home there, it is not covered but we do have a solar charger so the batteries won't go bad and we have the tires covered and parked on wood.
Thanks,
Jose and Karen

Hi.
We just returned from a four-week trip to Oregon and our motorhome now has a little over 5,000 miles on it. Is it time to change the oil? Is it too soon?
We would appreciate you input.

Hi, Over Thanksgiving we are going to take our grandson to Oatman, Ariz., in the RV. I know about the RV park in Laughlin at the Riverside and about the one at the Avi, but I was hoping someone maybe has stayed at a different one? Are there any good ones closeby on the river?
Thanks,
Jose and Karen

I totally agree, I have posted several questions and gotten some good replies, it is really good to talk to others who might have the same or similar problems and get advice.

I had purchased insurance for my rv through Good Sam and thought I was doing well with it, then one day when renewall was coming I looked around, go a quote from Progressive and saved an unbelievable amount of money. The coverage is good and the people are friendly!

Hi, everyone.
We purchased a National RV Tropi-Cal in February. It is a 2007 that was never sold, so it only had 160 miles on it. What with the economy the way it is and the fact that it is an '07, we managed to get a very good deal. I know the company is out of business, so I am just wondering how you all like yours and what problems is any we should be aware of?
Thanks for the input,
Jose and Karen

I am just wondering do most of you use the FMCA towing service? I keep receiving offers from Good Sam and since my plan will need to be renewed soon I was just checking around.... I am feeling that FMCA is probably the best but I would appreciate input. Thanks

I am researching all of the different options, m&m sounds good but has anyone tried BrakeBuddy? I ran across their web site yesterday
-
I was reading a site on ReadyBrake Supplemental Brake Systems and it sounds good, has anyone tried it? or do you have an opinion on it?
-
Thanks. We were glad to hear from someone with a Vue. We have a really good mudguard on the RV and we have a large car duster (have not ever used it, but we will now).
-
I am just wondering what do you use to protect your towed vehicle from flying debris?
We tow a 2009 Saturn Vue and so far they do not make a bra for it, so I am wondering if there is something else that really works for protection? Or, does it really matter? is there that much debris that hits it?
We have been motorhoming for many years, but this is the first time we are going to tow a vehicle.

This is our kitty Reno. He loves to travel in the motorhome, relax and check out chipmunks. Reno is a 5-year-old Siamese kitty who weighs 14 pounds. We adopted him from a shelter when he was 3 and we have been a happy family ever since.
We really lucked out as we did not know if he would like traveling -- at that age, some cats don't. So, imagine how happy we were on his first trip to find that he loves it as much as we do. We named him Reno because we took a gamble and we won!

We have an extended warranty, a 6 year one and so far they have covered any problems and it was an easy process

The photos that get uploaded to fmca have to be no more than 50 pixels, I did upload one for my profile but it took a while as it was way too large. I used a program called Studio for photo editing and cropped it and made the pixels smaller. Is there an easier way that I did not think of? I am good with computers, but this is bugging me. I would like to upload my kitty picture for the pet photo contest and want to do it the easiest way possible.
Thanks for your help.

Good for you, we are similar started in tents, sleeper vans and finally Class A Motor Homes. You have many years of fun and enjoyment ahead of you in the motor home as it does not get much better than having one. We still work also but only for a couple more years, we want to retire by 61 or 62 and have more time to take trips.
Try to take a 3 or 4 week trip a year and really makes the rest of the year much better.

PS, I love your kitty, does he travel with you? We have a Siamese and he loves the trips in the motor home

Hi. We are Joe and Karen we have been camping for about 35 years. We started in a tent, moved up to a sleeper van, rented motor homes and finally purchased a 1996 Pace Arrow that we enjoyed until February of this year. This year we purchased a 2007 National RV TropiCal that is 36' long, has three slideouts and runs on diesel. It was a great deal, as it had never been sold and National went out of business.
We love camping in the western states and we especially love Oregon. We really enjoy going to Collier State Park in Oregon -- it is a great place to relax and have fun. The campsite has full hookups and is awsome. It's right by the river and the fishing is great! Nothing like cooking fish outdoors and enjoying the peace of it all. We also really like Wyoming, Texas, Utah, Colorado and so on ....
Looking forward to Summer... Oregon for four weeks with the family and our 4-year-old grandson.
We have a 2007 National RV, Tropical Diesel Pusher with a Freightliner Chassis and a Caterpillar engine, it is extremely roomy and comfortable so we figure it will carry us through our retirement. We still both work but when we do retire in a couple of years we are planning to travel for a three or four months at a time, camp, meet people, have fun and then come home check out the house, see the family for a while and off again, and hopefully some of the time the family will come to us and we can all have fun together.

We have been traveling with our cat for many years now and he loves it! At this time we have an 8 year old Siamese and he loves it! Before him we have traveled with 2 other cats and they liked it also.
We put kitty in a cat carrier that is on a stroller, we bought it online at a cat site. The carrier is heavy cloth in the back with a window and the front half is mesh for a view, it attaches to a base that has 4 wheels. We put him in the carrier in between us and use a bunji cord to secure the carrier on both sides, when we first take off he comments a bunch for the first 10 miles or so and then he curls up, and sleeps. At the campsite he has the run of the motorhome (he is an indoor kitty) he loves to sleep in one of the cabinets where the blankets are and he loves to sit in the big window up front and watch chipmunks and fun stuff. The litter box is not a problem we keep it in a corner by the shower and we just make sure to clean it several time a day, a couple of times a day we take him for a walk through the campsite in his stroller and people laugh - it is a great way to meet people and pass the time chatting. Often when we are sitting around at the campsite we will bring him out in his carrier to sit with us and enjoy the birds or chipmunks.
Cats are great in motorhomes because they are fun, good company, sleep allot and are self entertaining, we can not imagine travelling without kitty. -
We are new to the Diesel world, switched from gas, Is there a secret to pumping Diesel? it is so foamy and it seems like if you put it in to fast it backs out?

[We travel to Oregon almost every year and it is a wonderfull trip! You should go on the Oregon State Parks and request their Parks Guide. All of the coastal parks we have stayed at have been great and we keep going back because it is so peacefull and enjoyable. If you want to go somewhat further north from Seaside it is worth it to go to Fort Stevens State Park it is 10 miles W of Astoria at the mouth of the Columbia River, it has 174 full hookups, and 302 electrical. There is a historic military sith with meseum and remnants of a military fort also the remains of the Peter Iredale shipwreck. It is a very fun park, lots of hiking too. The next thing we love to do is go to the lighthouses some have tours and it is fun and interesting to see them. Umpqua Lighthouse state park is also worth going to, they have a very good tour of a wonderfull lighthouse, if you dont want to stay in the state park a bit further down is Winchester Bay, a great seaside town there we always stay at the Marina RV Resort and ask for a spot right on the water.
We travel in a 2007 National RV Tropical that is 37 feet long and have not had any problems traveling up and down the Oregon 101. Previos to that we had a 1998 Pace Arrow that was 36' and also no problem.

Blue Ox all the way, it is so easy to use, we had never towed a vehicle and we got the Blue Ox, first time it took less than 10 minutes to hook up.
-
Can anyone recommend some nice full hookup parks in Tombstone and The Carlsbad Cavern areas? We are thinking of taking a trip there and we just wondered if anyone had stayed at places they really liked?
Thanks
