DD69.  Did not know what coach I was looking at, but it looks good and I really like the colors! :)  We did have some strange named coaches back then!  I don't remember a Lifetime, was that the Manufacturer or model?  I love it when I see some older rigs still rolling along.

    Carl

The Lifetime looked like a Winnebago of the 60s.  Boxy with a reverse slope windshield.

Talking about two different animals there Desert Deals. What year is your coach? Probably newer with considerable improvement plus propane. Onan Diesel Water Cooled are a quantum leap from what we had in our first coach. Glad that you are happy with it. You would not have enjoyed our 1988 Onan gas unit.

I have Onan generators in 10 or so different coaches starting with a 69 Lifetime I had in 74.  I've had quite a few different models of Onans but this Marquis is the quietest. It is in a 98 Discovery still 19 years old.

In our first class A (1988)  we had an air cooled Onan. It was quite noisey. Do not remember exact size/ maybe 5.5 to 6 kw. It would run both roof top ac, the converter, microwave all at once. Never tried the convection when everything else was running. Probably could not have handled that load. When at altitude in Colorado in the autumn, I had to put a trouble light by the carburetor to keep it from freezing up. If I didn't the unit would stumble and barely run. I have not heard a quiet air cooled Onan anywhere.

I have a Onan Marquis 6.5 LP which is surprisingly quite.

  4. To overcome the problems with surge brakes I removed the surge master cylinder and installed a solid coupler on the tongue.  I installed an air over hydraulic master cylinder, operated by the air brakes on the coach through the air relay.  They worked too good so I had to put a pressure regulator at the connector to reduce the braking force.

What do you have now and what don't you like about it?

I have a sleep number and it works for me!  I've also had memory foam and was quite happy wit it. :D  Have not heard of anybody being happy with the Denver mattress.

We have been using a full queen Denver mattress for 3 years.  We spend about 200 nights a year in the coach.  It hasn't sagged like most of the others we have tried.  We are happy with it.

  6. I just installed balancing beads but have not gone for a ride yet.  The biggest problem that I've been told is the clogging of the valve stem so the the valve stems that come with the beads have a filter to prevent that from happening.  The balancing beads have been around for years, I am only trying them now because a manufacturer of the beads sent me a set to try on my coach to evaluate.

So, do you suspect some out of round/runout in the tire/wheel that repositioning corrected?

I think it was the matching of the wheels because I had I think 3 sets of tires and it wasn't until I switched the inner wheels the problem was corrected. I have moved the Alcoas to my new to me coach and they still are smooth.

Since 12 volt side is direct current, it would ok to have both of them to charge the battery bank at the same time. And with smart technology, both will be sensing to prevent an overcharge situation. What will not work is for both inverters to supply the same AC circuit at the same time, that would in almost any case cause the inverters to trip because of the inability to be in perfect phase with each other.

There are ways to stack inverters to double the output.

My BW tank has built in spray wash. I use it every time I dump until outflow is clear but that's all I do. No problems so far.

I built a 3 valve manifold for the fresh water hose.  One goes into the black tank, one into the gray tank, and the final is to flush the hose.  I have a dedicated hose for this purpose.  When I finish dumping  the black tank I close the valve and fill it with fresh water for 3 minutes, I have an electronic timer solenoid valve. Then I dump it again, repeating if it is still not clear.  Same procedure for the gray tank.  The last thing I do is to flush the sewer hose with fresh water.
