When I cant screw the connection to the pipe at the CG I place it in and hang these on it to keep it down (usually its snug in the hole). I don't own a donut and never have, also never had a problem. The photo above....CG has nice connections that are threaded and work well.

In Las Vegas the health dept requires a donut.  At Thousand Trails on Boulder highway the opening is a tapered cement hole.

Thanks for all the info. I finally located a solenoid in behind a panel in the electrical compartment. I tested it and it does not work. New one exact replacement on order from MurCaL Inc. The solenoid is active when the ignition is on. This will charge my house batteries while driving which was the problem off getting somewhere and the batteries were weak.

Make sure it is a continuous duty solenoid.

The cook top in the photo was $299 on eBay, other than a jig saw blade and a switch it was very simple to install if you decide to go that route.

I took your lead and ordered one last night.  Found one on eBay, new in the box, for $210 and free shipping.  I have been using portable induction cook tops for about 10 years, first saw them in Asia and had to have one.  At home we have had an Samsung induction range for several years.

    GLSPonchos,

I love it when members ask question because I always learn from the answers and often use the Q&A to improve something in my coach.

If your stovetop is the only think that runs on propane, you may want to consider making a conversion to convection as Carl mentions above.  That way you can ultimately get rid of that heavy propane tank.  Read Jleamont's posts regarding removal a propane tank.

I'd like to be able to do that but it would require major reconstruction surgery for us.  We don't have Aqua Hot and rely on the furnace and heat pumps.

What brand stovetop do you have?

It is Induction cooktop not convection.  They run on 1/2 the current and heat twice as fast ( I tested the induction against the standard electric ) and are easy to clean.  I am using a single counter top induction unit.

I recently purchased a Wilson cell booster. I only got 4db improvement. Called Wilson, and I was told that if the signal isn't 85db or less that their boosters would not help. Mine was -118db. Remember that the smaller the number, the stronger the signal. Therefore, when traveling, at some locations you may or may not have any booster be effective.

Where do you get that db measurement?

    Hi Folks,

While we have been members of the FMCA and owners of a coach for almost a year. We were new to full timing and lost our coach to fire on our first major trip. Happened on August 2016 in Marina CA and today is the 2nd September 2016.I would like to say the FMCA were a great help or enquirer as to what if anything they could do,but sadly that's not the case.

I rang the emergency number and explained my husband had been driving hours already and would now be driving tired and I had a heart condition and has lost all my medication and my ID. Plus we were in shock as we had lost our pet to the fire. Couldnt find accommodations on our own due to some car show.

I'm not sure if it's maned by volunteers or paid staff, but I got told oh it's after hours we only have one staff member to handle any emergencies. And that he had a number of emergencies to deal with.

We never got a call that night or to date to even see how we were or what if anything they could do to help.

IM less than impressed needless to say. And doubt that we will be renewing membership.

if this wasn't an emergency I don't know what is. And emergencys happen after hours FMCA you need to correct the availability of staff accordingly.

What did you expect from FMCA?

  7. Wilson makes a variety of products that boost signal.  I was in a campground without any usable service on my Verizon iPhone.  My neighbor had a Wilson 271201 amp and I put my phone next to it and I had 5 bars.  I will ordered one and will pick it up at my daughters in 2 days when we get to her home in Oregon City.

    Fellow FMCA Members,

My name is Lem Chance and my wife (Diane) and I own a 2015 Thor Tuscany XTE 40AX. We have really been enjoying the rig with one issue.

During our fuel stops, when attempting to fuel up using the truck lanes at Flying J and other truckstops, the pumps shut me off on or about 6 gallons on both sides and I have to keep re-starting the pump multiple times which can take up to 30-40 minutes to completely fill up. We took the rig back to the dealership to troubleshoot the issue along with consulting with the Thor technical folks. According to both of the them, everything checks out at the fuel tanks and ventilation components but not once has anyone looked at either of the hoses running from the intake nozzle to the tanks. I consulted with a diesel mechanic who manages a large metro bus fleet and after looking at our rig, he determined that there are bends in both hoses that are causing the restriction and the pump to shut off all of a sudden. He indicated that they have a similar problem with the new buses delivered to the fleet and they actually cut about 1/4-1/2" inch of the hose and reposition it straighter by getting rid of the bend.

Has anyone ever experienced this issue? If so, what was done to correct the problem? Every truck stop does not have the RV lanes with the smaller nozzles and I'm getting really annoyed with my current situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Lem & Diane Chance F444590, lemchance@yahoo.com

In my RV repair shop we have corrected the problem by installing a steel pipe with short hose coupling at each end.  If the original hose is more than 18 inches or so and is slightly too long it may be sagging in the middle.  We use exhaust pipe, usually 1 1/2 inch and do the appropriate pipe bends at each end to align with the tank and fill nipples. Make sure the vent hose has no dips in it.

I know this is a long title. I just started writing and that's what came out. My problem: I have a new TPMS and I've installed four sending units on my Jeep and on the front tires of the motorhome. The rear axle has a tire stem for the inside tire facing out and the stem for the outside tire turned inward into an opening in the aluminum wheel. It's not hard to reach with a rear facing air chuck when checking tire pressure, but almost impossible to reach with a sending unit in two fingers.

My question after all this, Is it possible to turn the stem around, twist it, so I can reach the open end of the stem? I'm wondering why the stem faces inward anyway.

If you have Tire Minder transmitters there is a tool to install and remove the transmitter on the outer dual.  It is possible to turn the stem around.
