  1. Well it was an ordeal for me to even get a quote on an Extra Ride policy. Only one dealer in Oregon and the cost was outrageous! 36 month policy with a $200 deductible was $5499! Both my local Newmar dealer and Wholesale Warranties quoted me exclusionary policies for longer terms at half that price. Anyone have experience with Viking (who is now the company Wholesale uses) or Star RV (Interstate National Dealer Services of Florida)? Both quotes on those were around $3200. We've got 5 days before our factory warranty expires, so I need to act fast!
  2. EasyCare is a ripoff. Had them when we had our tt and they wouldn't pay for anything! Gave us a really hard time getting a prorated refund when we sold our trailer too. I'm on the fence about whether to buy an extended warranty on our 2016 Bay Star too. The Newmar 1 year warranty is up in 2 weeks and it makes me nervous. But, the warranties are SO expensive and if they mostly operate the same (as in don't pay for anything), what's the point of wasting the $$?
  3. Just looking at surge protectors and I'm a bit confused. First, do you have to buy different ones depending on what amp service is available at a particular site? Most sites we go to have either 20 or 30, but there are a few that have 50. Don't want to have to buy multiple protectors. Second, I understand hardwired is superior. How hard is it to install yourself? We're not at ALL mechanically inclined, so unless it's simple, we'd need to have it professionally installed. Is there a hardwired protector that's plug and play? We recently experienced an episode (not entirely sure it was related to power surge though) where our AC units quit working (fan too) for several hours on both shore power and generator. Eventually, they started working normally again. This experience has made me realize we really do need a surge protector. Thanks for all your help! Edited to include coach info - 2016 Newmar Bay Star.
  4. Is this something that can easily install yourself, or does it need to be installed by the dealer or other professional?
