  1. I would not recommend the 3M product or whatever kind of clear plastic you have, does not last and mold/mildew forms under the film and generally looks like crap. Very time consuming and expensive to remove.
  2. We purchased 2009 Holiday Rambler Scepter in November. We drove from South Carolina to Pine Island, Florida November 26. We have not moved the MH since and I have noticed a transmission oil leak below the Allison. Does anyone know of a Allison trans repair capable facility located around FT. Myers, Florida?
  3. That is alot of blowby, that much would indicate very worn piston rings or possibly a hole in a piston.
  4. Yes, our Holiday Rambler Scepter is a tag and what a difference. The dealer predicted I would be impressed with the handling characteristics of this Scepter. The 5' difference in length between the Expedition vs. the Scepter is part of it in addition to the significant weight difference.
  5. I purchased a Sears battery charger/maintainer and it has a digital read out, when I installed it the first time, the readout indicated 20% charge. After 12 hours of charging, starting batteries are now at 99% charge and I'm continuing to keep the charger/maintainer installed until I decide just what I want to do.
  6. Speaking of cross wind driving, I went from a 38' Expedition to a 43' Holiday Rambler and the Expedition was all over the road in a cross wind. The Scepter is rock steady and the Expedition was no light weight. Obviously, both diesel pushers.
  7. I added a small charger/inverter yesterday and it has charged the starting batteries back up to 54% from less than 20%. Just surprised that I would have to do that on such an expensive motorhome when new.
  8. We purchased a 2009 Holiday Rambler Scepter in November and after 1 1/2 months of camping encountered dead starting batteries. Our diesel pusher Expedition had the inverter charge the house and starting batteries. Is something I need to turn on with this motorhome that would allow the chassis batteries to receive a charge when hooked up to shore power?
  9. Hermanmullins - I'm in Florida, Pine Island to be exact, I would enjoy a house call and it would be worth a couple of beers at the Ragged *** Saloon in St, James City, just a short 1/2 mile down the road.
  10. Here is the picture of my wipe that I'm trying to change on my 2009 Scepter.
  11. I need to replace my windshield wipers and need some help as to how to remove them for changing. They have a large metal hook that is part of the wiper arm. There is a hole close to the this hook, is that the release mechanism?
  12. Looking for any advice as to where I can locate a chrome exhaust tip for my Cummins Onan generator. The one I have the chrome has all rusted off. 2009 HR Scepter.
  13. We purchased a 2009 Scepter three weeks ago and our dinette light does not work. I installed 2 led bulbs and it will not work. It worked with the incandescent bulbs and will not work after I re-installed them. I checked the fixture and it indicates no power with the switch on. We have those push button switches and I'm not familiar with them, is there something internal to these switches that would cause it not to work for this light. I installed LED bulbs in other fixtures in this motorhome and they work great.
  14. We are in the process of buying a 2009 Holiday Rambler Scepter 42 tag. We would like to find a reputable extended warranty company that any FMCA member has experience with or a recommendation.
  15. Finally determined just what the causal factor is for the Intellitec is, determined that the breaker for the washer/dryer was off and after turning it to the on position, Intellitec is now indicating correctly. The washer/dryer breaker was off at panel because we don't use it, so no need to have the breaker on. As to why Fleetwood would wire/assemble it this way I would not know.
  16. In talking to an electrician in regards to my power indicated issues with my Intellitec, has anyone ever changed a circuit board for the Intellitec and where is it located?
  17. Basic problem was caused by braided stainless steel stem extensions that were installed by Camping World of Northern Michigan. Stay away from stem extensions unless they are installed by people who know what they are doing.
  18. I was able to start my Expedition after it sat since last September. I installed my trickle charger to the starting battery and after 24 hour charge I got my cat diesel started. I hooked up my 30 amp supply line through and adapter to my amp 4 prong plug and the Intellitec either searches, or indicates that I'm hooked up to 50 amp which I'm not. No readout indicated as to which voltage I have just small indicator led light opposite 50 amp.
  19. I have sealed starting batteries and they started the coach after running the generator for a couple of hours.
  20. I was plugged into a 15 line in my pole barn just to keep the batteries charged over the winter. That was all I used the power for and it was on a timer for 4 hours a day. Yes, I used two adapter's to plug into the 50 amp 4 prong plug. Nothing else was working on the coach as it was all turned off.
  21. I have a 2006 Fleetwood Expedition that I had a 15 volt line sourced to the inverter to try and keep the batteries charged over a Northern Michigan winter. Upon trying to start the motorhome in the middle of March all batteries were dead and the engine would not turn over. I have had issues before with the Intellitec not reading 50 amps when it was installed to a known 50 amp supply, the Intellitec indicated 30 amps. I was able to get enough of a charge to get the generator started and then after a couple of hours was able to get the main engine started. My motorhome is located in Northern Michigan and near Traverse City. Is there a location in Michigan that can handle an issue like this and has a good known work ethic.
  22. Tireman9 - My system looks almost exactly like your installation. I do not have a TPMS system installed. I was just at the motorhome yesterday and I have at least 2 flat tires.
  23. I had 6 new Goodyear RV tires installed three years ago at Camping World of Northern Michigan in Houghton Lake, Michigan. Since that time I have had nothing but problems with tire air pressure loss. Last year on my way again to Camping World I had an inner rear tire come completely off of the rim which ruined the tire. I have had several tires go flat just with the motorhome stored, Camping World has installed the braided tire pressure extensions onto the rears twice now once new purchase and once under warranty. I now have a flat right front tire and I just don't understand what is the problem. I always monitor and maintain at least 90 psi air pressure. What do other RV's do for tire extensions to be able to fill check their rear and front tires without struggling?
  24. Never had the issue before in 5 years of camping. Noticed it twice last summer from dedicated 50 amp power at the post. I wrote to Intellitec, but they never responded. I was thinking that possibly Intellitec has failed as there have not been any changes otherwise. Expedition has 40,000 miles.
