wolfe10 Report post Posted October 28, 2016 cjmaher, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Usually this issue is associated with dragging brake pads. If that is not the issue, what is causing the overheating that leads to ABS sensor failure? Have you cleaned and lubed the caliper slide pins?
campcop Report post Posted October 28, 2016 On a 2009 it could also be a degraded brake hose.
jleamont Report post Posted November 1, 2016 cjmaher, welcome! Your ABS sensor I believe is located in the rear axle housing differential, not at each wheel end. I tried to verify but Ford is experiencing website problems. They are usually located in the center portion of the rear axle housing and are a common point of failure, mostly due to water in the connector which results in corrosion. What issues are you having in particular with the ABS system? It should look like this.
cjmaher Report post Posted November 4, 2016 Hi thanks for the input. I am having a problem with the ABS sensor it is on a 2009 Ford chassis 24000 LB front. Caliber flex bearings all pan out OK Trying to locate ABS sensor on line no luck lots shown for 22000 lbs chassis none for 24000 Ford no help part on back order two months. Your idea of corrosion could be the cause of the problem. Thanks again
