wildebill308 Report post Posted March 3, 2017 We stayed at Midland RV Campground 2 days a go. Not bad for overnighter. Well we did stay 2 days visiting with some friends. If you want a good place to eat go to the Garlick Press in Midland. 2134 S Midland Dr, Midland, TX 79703 midlandrvpark.com (432) 697-0801 Bill
BillAdams Report post Posted March 3, 2017 Last time we were there the oil boom was in full swing and it was hard to find anywhere to park. Take a look at RV parky (the app or .com) as well as RVParkReviews.com and you should get a good idea of where to stay. Many have become permanent homes for the worker with some tents, sheds, pop ups and some really, really old trailers.
blakeloke Report post Posted March 3, 2017 Ditto Bill's comment about the Garlic Press. Excellent steaks and selections of wine! Or, if you are hankering Italian food.....try Luigi's on Big Spring (downtown). Blake

Still plenty of permanent residents but most of the "man camps" are gone. Bill
manholt Report post Posted March 4, 2017 Laying down oil pipe lines, has been booming in that part of Texas and SE NM for the past 12 months, no end in sight as they now are starting to drill again!
bradrm Report post Posted March 4, 2017 We stayed at the Midessa Oil Patch RV Park last October & it was nice. Our experience there was good & we would stay there again if we pass through Midland-Odessa again. I believe it could have been a KOA at one time judging by the style of the office. The power & restrooms were good. I don't remember having any noise issues such as full timers leaving for work.
