Door Squeaking While Traveling

While we are underway the door to the motorhome squeaks. We have had the door aligned once because it would not lock properly.

Any suggestions?

Did this just begin or has it been going on for a long time? Have you by some chance had the wind catch the door and wrench it out of your hand and possibly sprung the door?

It may also be your striker bolt that is squeking, if so some lube and or a slight adjustment might help.

Not too much grease, you do not want the DW getting it on her clothing.

it has been going on for some time. the striker bolt?  is that related to the deadbolt, because that is a little loose.

I found ours was squeaking from the weather seal.  I sprayed it with dry silicone and it quit.

The striker bolt is the post you see on your door frame. You will see one on all doors of your car, truck and Motor Home. It is what the door connects with when you close the door. Our Motor Home has two on our door.

I will check the striker bolt and lube or adjust and see if that helps, thank you. I will also get some dry silicone and spray the weather seal.  Thank you both for these suggestions.
