Slides Quit: 2007 Holiday Rambler Imperial 43DSQ

We have owned and enjoyed this coach for a year and were to depart for a six week journey to Yellowstone and Glacier this morning, caravanning with two other couples.  We instructed them to go ahead and were certain our delay would be minimal.  Wrong!!!

The protocol for slide operation is to have the ignition off before attempting to operate the slides.  My husband was in a hurry and attempted to close the rear curb side (bed) slide while the engine was running.  The slide mechanism started momentarily, then stopped.  After turning the engine off he attempted the task again and the slide (bed) made a momentary sound and quit. The three other slide switches offer no response when pressed.

The coach owner's manual states that there are two fuses under the step which we are unable to locate.  Monaco technical support says the fuses are likely in the ceiling of one of the pass-through bays.  Our search has been fruitless.

Have any of you had the same or simiilar experience?   We are very anxious to catch up to our friends--it has now been 5 1/2 hours!

Welcome to the Forum.  If there is a compartment door under any of your slides, open and close them. There switches on each compartment door to keep the slides from opening or closing if a door open. 

You have hydraulic slides and they are HWH from Moscow, Iowa. Give them a call. They can tell you the location of the fuses.

Is there any information in the owners manual that might cover - resetting the system or the system timing?

How many slides on your coach?

Make of the slide equipment HWH ? model and any other information you can post regarding the slide system.

Rich, they have 4 slides and it is a HWH system.  As Herman said, the contact switches under the slides, inside bay doors, will prevent slide from moving until the switches are closed.  Had the same problem on my Allegro Bus!

They could also call the REV group, tech dept.

Thanks everyone for the information; we have another mechanic here this morning since 8 a.m. and he is checking out everything, including your suggestions.  I will report back as soon as we have the problem solved.
