kenandbev Report post Posted November 27, 2017 I’ve recently purchased a 1997 Overland Lorado Model 4141 (41+ ft) with a single slide on a 1996 Freightliner V Line chassis with an 8.3 Cummins. It drives down the road very nicely and has good ‘bones and structure’. I think it’s been used very little if at all for a few years, having been owned and parked by a rather elderly couple that couldn’t bear to part with it. It needs work, major cleaning, and TLC. It also desperately needs an operator that knows more about it. Since the coach manufacturer Odessa has been out of business many years, I am in search of any similar model or year Overland manuals or specific information. I have acquired a few component manuals, but have nothing specific to this coach and it’s specific layout, schematics, control locations, and specifications. I’ve searched online but without success. I’d even be glad to pay an owner for a copy of their manual or manual sections or ??? Thank you Ken Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
dickandlois Report post Posted November 27, 2017 Ken , Welcome to the FMCA Forum Not sure this will help, but the coach most likely was built on an Oshkosh chassis. and Oshkosh was bought out by Freightliner. Any Vin or chassis numbers might help nail that portion down. Note some of the chassis manuals have survived. Regarding the owners manual - you might try to locate a Odessa / Overland Group on the web. I have been trying to search the web for an owners group but so far had not been successful. I input the SN into the web and it came back as a 1996 ‘V’ Line Freightliner chassis; I think often referred to as a ‘raised rail’ Freightliner chassis. This design allows for larger storage compartments (as best as I can determine). It has a GVWR 5,000 pounds more than the more common Freightliner ‘X’ chassis and a larger Cummins; 8.3 liter versus the 5.9 liter Now this is not firsthand information but rather what I’ve been able to read at this point.
