brown774 Report post Posted August 5, 2018 Our Atwood water heater stopped heating in electric mode. In the 12v propane mode it still heats water. Breakers are on no obvious wires disconnected so it is probably the electric heating element. Things always happen on Sunday when no one is available to call. Is that repairable or replace the entire water heater?
desertdeals69 Report post Posted August 5, 2018 The heating element should be replaceable. When mine failed it was the thermostat on the tank. Replaced it and it has been working ever since.
747guy Report post Posted August 5, 2018 Just replaced the heating element in my 2001 Monaco. It took less than 20 minutes and cost about 20 bucks for the element.
richard5933 Report post Posted August 5, 2018 This is a situation where Amazon is a good friend to have. The elements are available, usually a save or next day. Be sure to get the wrench if you don't already have it.
hermanmullins Report post Posted August 5, 2018 Richard, The element can be purchased at you box store, Lowe's or Home Depot. They are 110 volt elements. If you have to old one out take it with you to compair. In my last coach I replaced mine from Lowe's. I prefer Lowe's over Home Depot in our area.
