rkwenning Report post Posted June 18, 2019 I have a 2015 Dynamax DX3, it is on a Freightliner M2 chassis. 350 HP Cummins. 20,000 lb towing capacity. Does anyone know information on max tongue weight? Does anyone have knowledge of use of a Tow Tower behind the DX3?
manholt Report post Posted June 18, 2019 Your owners manual will tell you...if you don't have one, you can get it in a pdf down load on web. Normally your tongue weight is 10% or 2,000#, but that depends on type of hitch used. "Tow Tower?" Don't know what that is. The web probably has that answer! How long a trailer are you towing? What kind?
five Report post Posted June 18, 2019 The web site says this coach has a 350 HP, 1000 ft/lbs of torque, Cummins ISL. With a GVWR of 33k, no doubt it will pull it okay, but it doesn't make much sense to down rate the ISL from 450/1250 to 350/1000 then add a 20k tow rating. AC has been using the ISL 450/1250 for several years with a 15k tow rating.
