djpauls Report post Posted September 2, 2010 I have a 2001 Monaco Dynasty. Intermittently when driving and inverter is on the left front Bose surround sound speaker will emit a loud noise like when you turn a radio on max and not on station. Turning off the inverter stops the noise. Does not happen when plugged into shorepower or on generator. Any thoughts?
tbutler Report post Posted September 2, 2010 Since this occurs when driving, I would look for something related to motion. In other words, it could be an intermittent short or loose connection caused by shaking or movement. It may be related to an AC short in a circuit powered by the inverter or in some device powered by the inverter. Check the connections at the speaker and on the receiver first, then start looking for other sources.
vtbigdog Report post Posted September 27, 2010 Are there any other electrical sources nearby that are in use? I would be more inclined to think this is motor or electrical noise nearby. You can also switch the wires to another speaker and see if the noise moves. If not, the source is outside the surround sound system
