Suggested Beach Camps North of Los Angeles s/o Morro Bay

Question

Hello,

We are looking for a long weekend getaway from the Los Angeles, CA area to do a shakedown of our mew 38 foot class A. We were thinking of something on the coast n/o of L.A. but South of Morro Bay. We would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Fred

If you don't mind dry camping then our very favorite is Emma Wood Beach just N. of Ventura. You are parked at the edge of the Pacific along PCH1. I believe there is also a campground there with at least power connections but you will need to check with them about that and whether reservations are available.

A great place with full hookups is the Flying Flags RV park in Buellton (north of Santa Barbara). They can handle your larger coach and it is within walking distance of restaurants and other items in Buellton if you don't tow a car.

Hi Fred,

Let me recommend El Capitan State Beach just north of Santa Barbara. Its on a lovely beach and has good access for your size coach.

Also, just north of LA on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, there is a private RV park called Malibu Beach RV Park. The park sits right above the ocean and has fantastic views. You can walk down a short trail to a wonderful fresh fish shack to either buy and cook back at the park, or have them cook and serve for you.

Have a good trip.
