prairieschooner Report post Posted October 16, 2011 We are getting ready to do some dry-camping in a couple of weeks. I was wondering where to fill my freshwater tank without checking into an RV Park and then I figured that some of you would have good ideas. Where do you get freshwater when on the road? Thanks in advance.
desertdeals69 Report post Posted October 16, 2011 Rest stops with dump stations have fresh water available and those without usually have fresh water available although your hose may need an adaptor to hook up. Fuel stops such as Pilot, Flying J, Loves have water also.
prairieschooner Report post Posted October 16, 2011 Thanks but most of the rest stops here in So. Calif. are closed due to the budget shortfalls.I looked into dump stations at the state parks and many in the area we a going (Ventura) are closed as well. I'll try the truck stops. Guest BillAdams Report post Posted October 16, 2011 Most all RV parks will allow you to dump and fill for a small fee (around $10). If you are talking about CA then double that! Pilot / Flying J does allow you to dump, and usually fill, for $5 if you have an RV card. If you are able to get out of CA you will find lots more options.
