jwcgc629 Report post Posted May 2, 2012 Want to flat tow my 2004 F150 and realize the driveshaft must be disconnected. I see a lot of older info on the Remco product and some chat about a company called Superflow, but obtaining a driveshaft disconnect seems to be a daunting task. Would love some current info on the subject. Southwest Driveline has a rather negative message on their site regarding availability. What is the latest ? hermanmullins Report post Posted May 2, 2012 jwcgc629, Welcome to the Forum. Drive Shaft King 2319 N. Beckley Ave Dallas, TX 2149417122 Ask for David. Great People and they install the Remco Disconnect. If you have a steel drive shaft they will modify your shaft. Balance, install and not let you leave until he is sure you know all about your disconnect. If your shaft is aluminum he will have to make you a new shaft and install a carrier bearing, the disconnect, balance the unit and again not let you leave till you are OK. hermanmullins Report post Posted May 3, 2012 jwc, its very simple. Call David, give him the information on you truck and see if he can do your truck in one day. Leave the coach at home, come to Dallas, rent a motel and a car. Drop off the truck at DSKings. Go see the Rangers play, visit Cowboy Stadium, visit Six Flags (they are all close together) and go down town to the Sixth Floor Museum. Or you could call David and ask if he knows a dealer closer to you. Come and enjoy you will like it. Herman
T4UR3 Report post Posted August 9, 2012 Herman, Thank you for posting. I was in Florida when I found your post. My wife followed me in our Ford Excursion from TN. We are now back in Texas and I made contact with David at the DriveShaft King. He is everything you said he was. He worked me into his schedule gave me a ride back to my RV and offered to drive us over to anything we wanted to see the following day while they were working on my driveshaft. He gives a very good class on the disconnect and will give you his personal cell phone number when you leave in case you have problems. Very good service. RVerOnTheMove Report post Posted August 9, 2012 We have been waiting for our "REMCO" driveshaft disconnect from Superflow since we ordered it mid-June. For now I have to crawl under the van and disconnect the driveshaft so we can tow. Hopefully, someday, Superflow will come through and get us the necessary equipment. We were working with Henderson line-up in Grants Pass, OR (yes, travel to TX was out of the question) but they can't do anything if Superflow can't come through. Once we do get word that the driveshaft is available we will have to locate an installer along our travels and have it shipped there. Very disappointing compared to dealing with REMCO when they owned the business.
rlbarkleyii Report post Posted August 25, 2014 I had a Remco driveshaft disconnect put on my 2012 Nissan Exterra auto 4X4 in the Atlanta area. The company I went to was referred to me by Remco and they have been doing them for years. Fast in and out reasonable price. They are a driveshaft specialist, cut, balance, weld as necessary to install disconnect. Great people.
