tom538 Report post Posted June 4, 2012 We are homeward bound on interstate 40 after a month on the road. A very big adventure for newbies. We will be in Amarillo tonite and are looking for a nice campground in Oklahoma City for the following evening for our 38 ft pusher. Preferably with some grass to look at! Any suggestions? Thank You. kingfr Report post Posted June 4, 2012 If you don't mind KOA's there is one just east of Oklahoma City and another near Lake Eufaula, about 100 miles east of OK City. We have used both of them, either going to or returning from Amarillo.
greymountain Report post Posted June 4, 2012 Rockwell RV park right on I-40 on the west side of OKC. There is a Camping World across the interstate from the park. Also Twin Fountains, a new park on the northern edge right off I-44. GM

We have used both of them, either going to or returning from Amarillo. I second the (2) KOA's mentioned above. Twin Fountain leaves a lot to be desired as the attitude of the check-in people sucks and they've raised their prices noticeably. Hidden Valley RV park just south of Ardmore,Ok on I-35 is also good for an overnighter. http://koa.com/campgrounds/oklahoma-city/ http://koa.com/campgrounds/checotah/ http://www.hiddenlakerv.com/
tom538 Report post Posted June 8, 2012 Thanks for your advice. We ended up at the KOA near Eufala and really liked the park and the people who run it. Their chuck wagon was also excellent. Thanks for the tip. Tom and Gilda Molzow Enroute home to Beaufort, sc.
