Sundancer268 Report post Posted October 9, 2012 Has anyone ever removed their six (6) gallon Suburban water heater and replace it with a six (6) gallon Atwood Water Heater? If so how hard was it to modify the existing opening to make the Atwood fit and look good? I do not like having to change the anode rod in the Suburban and I have the Atwood installed in my Travel Trailer and really like it and would like to install one in the Motor Home. Thanks. wolfe10 Report post Posted October 9, 2012 Ed, Tell us a little more about what you have as it will help determine how complex the job will be: Propane only? Propane plus motor aid or 120 VAC or all three?
dickandlois Report post Posted October 9, 2012 Ed, Include you current water heater model number and if you have a Atwood model(s) in mind post them also. Rich.
desertdeals69 Report post Posted October 15, 2012 See what size opening is required for the new one. Hopefully its the same or just slightly larger. Inside work such as plumbing and wire hookups are not that hard to do.
