Coachmen Concord Holding And Gray Water Tanks

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately, when we purchased last year our 2004 Coachmen (28') Concord, we did not realize the two tanks are quite apart. One is under the sofa slide-out and after we empty it, we have to move forward the m/home to empty the gray water tank that is farther at the back, under the bedroom-slide out. Both "pipes" are sort of "under" the m/h rather than by the edge or the side of the m/h thus they are difficult to reach. We have thought of taking the m/h to someone that can install a large Y and have only one "pipe" to drain!

Has anyone had this "issue" and how have you solved it? We are so frustrated with this that have even thought of changing the m/h for another model...thou $$wise is not exactly the best time to do so.

And BTW, we have not found a good "value book" to learn how much it is worth now-a-days. For 2004 we have only found 25' and one slide Concords!

Thank you!

Jocelynn,

Talk about a stinky problem. There are sewer connections that come in a "Y". this way you may connect two hoses into one. It would take a little more setup time when dumping but you could pipe both drains into one then you could dump both tanks without moving the coach. This would work well when you are camping for several days in the same CG. One of the good things about a single outlet for the tanks is that when you drain the Holding tank firsts you can then drain the Gray water and it will flush the hose. So remember if you do go with the "Y" setup to be sure and flush the short hose from the Holding tank with water before storing.

Good luck and good draining.

Do you have any photos of the Y pipe install?

Most newer motorhomes come with a y pipe from the factory. All of those parts are available at most rv parts stores.
