MichaelC Report post Posted October 14, 2013 I have a 1998 Winnebago Adventurer - the slideout is stuck half in and half out - any suggestions? I heard a loud popping sound and it quit working.
dickandlois Report post Posted October 14, 2013 A sharp popping or snapping sound could be the coupling or shear pin breaking. Was the sound from a dual drive rail slide system? or a single drive rail system? Do you still have power to the drive motor ? Could you post the manufacture of you slide out system for the group. huffypuff Report post Posted October 14, 2013 I had the shaft break in half on bearing coupler and made the same noise. In my case was replace the bearing assembly with it's two brackets about $90 part. I was abled to push the slide in with a couple of people. Lucky that slide wasn't too big to handle. Howde Report post Posted October 14, 2013 We had this happen a week ago. My husband was putting down the leveling jacks and we heard a pop. I noticed that the one slide had slightly popped out. It was the pin in the motor that broke. We had a repair service come out. He pulled the slide out manually because it was our bedroom slide and the only way to access it was under the bed. Anyway, 3 hours later he replaced the pin and so far it's working good. Hope you are able to get yours fixed soon.
