wolfe10 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Acreed, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Not sure anyone on-line can answer your question. Parkinson can exhibit such a wide range of symptoms from almost negligible to debilitating. No "this is how it affects everyone". Probably your doctor would be a better judge of what you are capable of. In addition to the driving question, you also need to address the "chores" associated with RV'ing. Whether you are capable or your wife is and is willing to do them.
acreed Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Thanks wolfe10 You are right and I have a very mild form so far .. hand trembles sometimes, handwriting is very small . I have some meds the doctor prescribed that should help in long run. My wife is good at pitching in where needed. Plus we have discussed how this may all change. acreed Report post Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks for comments.. Since my last posting I have gone to Henry Ford clinic in Detroit and a specialist with Parkinson’s. My wife asked the final question we both were anxious to hear... Can I or should I drive a Class A RV? ( I am 65 years old) Diagnosed with a mild form of Parkinson’s. Her comment The neurologist was GO DO IT NOW ! She had a wide grin and so did my wife. Last comment ..anyone know a place my wife can practice driving an RV . We don't have one presently but plan on buying or borrowing/renting ? She plans on driving too. We have owned 2 Class A Rigs 10 years ago and I was sole driver. We are in Michigan. Happy Holidays to you. AR
hermanmullins Report post Posted December 23, 2013 AR, Congrats with the word from your Doctor. Try watching the magazine for all of the area Rallies. Check to see if one of them is having the driving school at their Rally. Just after the Six-State Rally in Sedalia there was the SMART Rally. They had a Driving Instructor that gave a private session to one of our friends. Give me a Personal Message and I will give you their name and you can call then and get the name of the Instructor.
