mcduffm Report post Posted March 10, 2014 I need to replace, at least one, spring on my main slide out window awning. I haven't found any good information on the internet. dickandlois Report post Posted March 12, 2014 Jim, Your awning would be an 8500 series. These springs are loaded with a good amount of tension, so one needs to use caution when working with them !! You may have a broken one and it would be unloaded, but do not get fooled ! They can weaken and still pack a punch. Think safety when working on them! Link to your part. You can see what they look like. The part numbers are there ID Number. https://www.marksrv.com/aande_parts.htm Right Torsion Spring=order #3108399.035 Left Torsion Spring =order #3108399.019 You might try these also. http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/rv-awnings/a-e-rv-awning-8500-plus.htm http://www.g4rvparts.com/AwningParts.html Rich. kaypsmith Report post Posted March 12, 2014 As Rich warned, those springs can be dangerous!!!!!!!!!! I use two pairs of visegrips to wind or unwind, also, there is a place to put a pin in, that will be removed when winding or unwinding, put that pin back in between bites of the pliers. Think safety. Good luck, Kay
