beford Report post Posted March 14, 2014 Is the year of a Motor Home determined by the chassis build date or the coach build date? We have a Damon Intruder purchased as a 2003,but when I went to price it on NADA most of the options on my coach were not listed for a 2003. They were shown on the 2004. rossboyer Report post Posted March 14, 2014 I would use the year listed on your title and/or registration.
five Report post Posted March 15, 2014 The title has the year that counts.
BillAdams Report post Posted March 15, 2014 Yep, only the title counts. A coach can have a chassis that is nearly 2 years older than the date it's titled. RV manufacturers are even allowed to put out a 2012 and if it does not sell change it to a 2013. I don't believe a dealer can, but the manufacturer can. rossboyer Report post Posted March 17, 2014 True, only the title counts; but if the motorhome was financed to purchase, he may not have the title. Therefore, the registration is next best.
BillAdams Report post Posted March 17, 2014 That would be true for a used vehicle. For a new registration it would be the certificate of origin or similar paper work.

I guess my dilemma is in trying to determine fair trade in figure or asking price when I decide to move up, how can I fairly do this when some options are not listed in the NADA for one year but are listed in a later year. I hope this makes sense.
campcop Report post Posted March 18, 2014 Go with the year that matches your vehicle. WE owned a 5th wheel purchased in May of 2005 but it was listed on the Cert of Origin as a 2006 as they had already changed some designs... it ended up titled as a 2006.
