ronandsue74 Report post Posted December 31, 2014 We plan to take the grand kids to Chicago this summer. We would like to spend several nights near the downtown area convenient to the museums and other downtown attractions. I haven't had any luck locating any full hookup campgrounds anywhere close to downtown. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you, Ron Jacobs 2005 Inspire #51264
hermanmullins Report post Posted January 1, 2015 Ron, Try http://www.rvparkreviews.com/. There you might find a park that meet your needs. The Museum of Science and Industry is awesome. Also take in the Navy Pier if you have time. If you need anything for your coach stop by Colaws RV Salvage in Carthage, Mo. Have a good trip this summer. coreygrubb Report post Posted January 3, 2015 Ron, we stay at McCormak Place located just south of the Loop. It is secure dry camping for $16.00/nite. Easy access to the El and cabs will pick you up at your coach.
rwilli Report post Posted January 4, 2015 The best bet is the Hollywood Casino in Joliet. The Casino offers a great campground--fully paved and very nice atmosphere. Nearby restaurants at the Casino and in downtown Joliet offers other entertainment options. The drive into Downtown Chicago is not bad. We travel to Chicago often and regularly stay at Hollywood Casino.
