akadeadeye Report post Posted August 13, 2015 I am trying to find out what specific type of coolant to add to my generator. Unbelievably, I called Cummins South Plains outlet near me and the lady in the parts department first told me that RV generators did not use coolant. Oh boy! Nothing she said after that was believable to me. Reviewed manual and it said use ethylene glycol 50/50. What do you use? Are there coolants already 50/50 mixed? dickandlois Report post Posted August 13, 2015 Don,I use ethylene glycol 50/50. Look at the manual so you know where the filler is and how to pull the filler up out of the expansion tank, if you have never changed the fluid before. My home pad is elevated just a little so the front is higher then the back. this helps reduce the chance of an air pocket in the system. Rich.
wildebill308 Report post Posted August 14, 2015 Did you call the one in Fort Worth? I had a problem with my 7500 when I was buying my coach. They had to replace the radiator because silica crystals had plugged it up. So I recommend a good low silica antifreeze. Hear is a good video on changing your coolant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LB5ZhvhXas Bill
