ultraglide Report post Posted August 16, 2015 Need some help. We have a 2014 Winnebago Journey with an Ideal Rest bed. The issue is that the the bed must be put up like a hospital bed. There is several inches of room to allow the inner mattress to move. When this happens the inner mattress stays so we end up with about 3 inches of mattress at the bottom and a gap at the top. We are looking for any ideas on how to stop this. The manufactor can not help nor can Winnebago but the latter is no surprise.
kaypsmith Report post Posted August 16, 2015 I use an adjustable bed in my mh, the manufacturer installed a steel bar, a rod if you can picture it, shaped like an elongated U, ie., the bottom of the u is stretched out about 36 inches. This is of course is inverted and is secured to the bottom end of the bed, this stops the mattress from sliding off the foot end when the bed is raised. The rod sticks upward about half the thickness of the mattress, and when the bed is made up, the covers are over that rod, so it is not seen. Maybe something like this could help your situation.
