Alfa Roof AC

Recommended Posts

We would like to add a roof AC to our 2005 Alfa SeeYa. Basement air works fine but in the Texas heat is just not enough to cool the front of the coach. Just wondering if any of you Alfa owners have done this and if so where did you mount it. Also can the 50amp pull both AC's at the same time.

Thank you very much.

The Renfros.

Renfros. Welcome to the Forum!

What size is your coach? Have you spoken to Fleetwood? what amperage does your basement AC draw? If your in Texas, give a call to

Texas Custom Coach at 1-830-510-4224, ask for Dave or Bill.

isrenfro,

Welcome to the FMCA Forum.

And, yes, 50 amp RV service is TWO 50 amp hots. So, if you pay attention to balancing the loads, you could add the load of a "third" A/C (two basement compressors and roof A/C.

As to what would be involved in pulling romex from your coach 120 VAC panel, availability of additional breaker, etc, I have no knowledge.

Another option would be to have the additional A/C run on a separate 20 amp circuit that you could power with a separate 20 amp shore power cord (many CG's with 50 amp service also have 30 and 15/20 outlets on the pedestal).

Our last coach was an Alfa Gold, and we added a 13.500 Roof Air in place of the front Fantastic Vent. Also had them takeout the

Fantastic Fan Control on the end of the Kitchen Cabinet and install a remote Control w/thermostat. This way the DW could easily

make changes.

The Tech routed the wires in behind the kitchen cabinets to underneath the refrigerator to the 110V access panel.

We have not had any Problems running all Units with the Generator .The work was done by Camping World in Mesa AZ .We where

Happy with their work-- no holes to cut in roof or cabinets.

Hope This helps .

There is also the option to contact Alfateers in Fontana California, if you want more insight.

I don't know where you are in Texas but you might give Ronnie Wolfe at **** Albrittons' shop in Choudrant, Louisana - 318-372-8225. They have put in a lot of roof units on Alfas. They installed the residential refrigerator for us June 2015 and did a fantastic job.

**** Albritton has an Alfa and he and Ronnie know the Alfa coach inside and out.
