If so, there are several styles, but most just release with a screw driver by prying out on the spring clip that holds the cup in the ball. Yes, there are other methods of attachment. hermanmullins Report post Posted April 3, 2016 Carol, To replace the struts on my coach I use a 24" of 1" x 1" x 1/4' piece of angle iron. I have taken a large Drill bit and drilled a indention on the inside of then angle. This allows me to pry the strut up and out and replace them. This just gives me some leverage to compress the strut enough to go back over the post. You can just post the clip off the old strut to remove it from the post. To replace the strut just slip a small flat screw driver blade under the clip just enough to pull it out a very short distance. When you have slipped it over the post just remove the S/D.
