F429260 Report post Posted April 6, 2016 We went to camper world yesterday and had our air conditioner and slides serviced. When we returned to our park one bank of our ceiling lights wouldn't come on. We checked all fuses, breakers and gfci. Then checked one of the lights with tester. Showed no power. Now all of the sudden it is working but the switch is one up and one down for both sets of lights to be on. Don't understand what's going on?

wolfe10 Report post Posted April 6, 2016 F429260, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Are these 12 VDC lights or 120 VAC lights?

wolfe10 Report post Posted April 6, 2016 Sounds like a loose connection. Unplug from shore power, generator off, inverter off, THEN remove both switch and light/first light in series from the switch and check connections. If that is not the problem, then there may be a broken wire between them that is sometimes making contact, sometimes not. Is any part of the wire in the slide (i.e. moves when the slide goes in and out)?
dickandlois Report post Posted April 6, 2016 Brett, Good point about the wire powering the lights or any other circuits when they are mounted on the slide(s). Common practice is to have a good sized loop in the wiring that expands and retracts with side motion. A wire that can be easily compromised while working under the slides. Rich.
