mh3860sh Report post Posted April 17, 2016 We're picking up our motorhome from Florida in June. We want to avoid the interstate system until we are north of Memphis. Any suggestions on campgrounds from southern Alabama up to the Memphis area? We plan on stopping/staying at each park for a couple days. They don't have to be fancy, just clean and affordable. Our maiden voyage. July first we are fulltiming. heading into the sunset after that. Thanks
rossboyer Report post Posted April 17, 2016 If you head west to Gulf Shores the state park there is very nice with full hookups. I have only traveled the interstates going north, but Oak Mountain State Park just south of Birmingham, AL is a quiet stop with full hookups. If you go there, be sure to use the south end entrance. GPS's will show the north entrance also, but RVs cannot cross the dam.
hdrich Report post Posted April 18, 2016 http://www.ultimatecampgrounds.com/uc3/ http://www.rvparky.com/ Here are a couple of websites you can try. You can also use Google Maps and type in :Campgrounds" in the address box and it will bring up various camping areas along with google reviews. Maybe this will help you. Safe travels and Happy Camping!
kaypsmith Report post Posted April 18, 2016 Don't know where in Florida you are traveling, but if going through Dothan then Troy Al., just north of Troy, there is a park called Deer Run. It is a Good Sam park, very quite and very nice park.
