  1. I did read your dec 1 post, not practical to drive 1500 miles to Portland, Or! To obtain paper work. i have filed a complaint about Superior Tire with Michelin, will also do that with NHTSA.
  2. If your Tire seller, like Superior Tire, won't help to register your tires, go to any Michelin dealer and pick up a registration card, fill it out and mail it in. This is per Michelin and currently they do not a have a way to register RV tires on line, yes for car and motorcycle tires! And per Michelin, a dealer can sell a 3 year old tire as "new". Warranty starts on date of sale not DOT date! They would like dealers to register tires, for recall purposes, but are not required! Is there a Federal Law requiring this?
  3. Chris G, if you go to that site and try you will find that it works for car tires, not RV tires.
  4. I know what a date code is, I know how to get the date code. If by law Superior Tire Is supposed to register the tires and he will not do it, what recourse do I have? i still have not found a way for me to register Michelin R V tires. There is an independent site for dealers to do it. Anyone know?
  5. Superior Tire says they do not have the date codes. What good is the law requiring them to register the tires if they won't comply? A month ago Michelin said they would mail me the registration and warranty info, still waiting for it!
  6. Try body shops, we had one installed for about $175!
  7. Roger, only thing Superior Tire gave was an invoice for installation, balance. No warranty, no DOT tire dates. Michelin XRV were purchased thru FMCA.
  8. I did contact Superior Tire in Portland and responded that they do not have the date codes and that I would have to get them myself or I could return to shop and they would get them for me. I am in Arizonan now! i did go to Roger Marbles TireSafety web site to register tires, which led me to Michelins site, which asked to choice the tire but the list is only for passenger tires, XRV tires are not listed. So where do you register RV tires?
  9. Have small RV, need small refer. The Whirpool 10.7 cf fits with minor trim, I know it runs on msw inverter, she likes it better then other brands, don't need any vents, and yes hard ice cream again!!!! Also 40% more room than No Cold, which means more salmon & crab to bring home from the NW ! harry
  10. I will leave it simple for now, just use the existing 1500 watt msw inverter/charger and leave it on all the time. i do know of coupe of other rv'rs that have installed the small Whirpool refer and it does work on the msw inverter, but they are not hard core boondockers either. Thank you for the help, Harry
  11. I was just looking for a close DC source for the small inverter, batteries are 6' away vs 2'. No mixing of psw and msw. The refer I am looking at is rated 338 KWh so around 80Ah or 500watts. Does it make any sense to install a 800 watt inverter that is on 24/7 instead of running the 1500 watt inverter 24/7? We do have 250 watts of solar which is on the low side for this but then we boondock only occasionally, and we still have the generator for a needed boost. What would you do? The Norcold is 13 years old, 7.5cf, leaking door seals, repaired hinge. New is $2300, small residential 10.7cf is $450. thank you
  12. One of the early questions was "can I use a Small, (say 500w) PSW inverter to power the residential refrigerator only"? if yes can I wire it to the current inverter?
  13. So what does Michelin say about age of tires at installation date? We all have our opinions, what do they say? I have posted this question on their web site but no response! What do the tire experts say? Superior Tire in Portland did not give me DOT numbers or a copy of the warranty, just an invoice for $500 to install, balance, torque, disposal, etc. They are not a small dealer but act like one!
  14. Rhinderber, go to. TrekTraks.com. And search air conditioner, some people say the 15,000 unit did not help any. lot of good information on this site, very friendly Trek owners. harry
  15. What does Michelin say is the start date for tire warranty? DOT or install date? (had a good laugh, Michelin customer service lady said "ok to buy 3 year old tires and that they are good for 10 years") Superior Tire in Portland Or says it starts at installation date, so they say a one year old tire is OK! They also don't supply you the DOT dates so you have to do that yourself! Will the next buyer of the coach be happy when you tell him that the tires are only 5 years old, not 6 like the DOT date shows?
  16. A heart, go to: trektracks.com Bunch of Isuzu people there with lots of information.
