  1. Update. El Paso Cummins finished cleaning the lines and the tank with distilled water. They put everything back in. Still waiting for word on the catalyst. Not one to be had in the 8 state Rocky Mountain region. They told me to go on my trip and to come back when I am done. They said that now that it is really clean I should not have a problem. Now I have paid twice for the same thing.

$1727 to Orlando Cummins to clean with a hose and tap water and now $1285 to El Paso to clean it correctly with distilled water. El Paso wanted Orlando to help pay for some of the cleaning. Orlando won't call El Paso back. Will have to take it up higher. Bad DEF came from Pilot in Seffner Fl. Pilot not talking either. Still working on it all.

  2. At the present time I am sitting in the Cummins parking lot till tomorrow, then maybe Anthony NM. Update on unit Cummins is cleaning out the whole DEF system, and replacing the SCR Catalyst. That the only thing that have not been replaced, that's the good news. Bad news is that no one has the catalyst and it may take 2 weeks to 49 days . I do believe it's bull but what can I do.

  3. I am trying to find out the year of the engine. It is a 400hp on a Freightliner. When I first bought the unit I was told to fill up every time that I put in fuel. I have since been only doing it when the DEF tank gets about 1/2. My toad says not to go over 65 ,so I find my sweet spot to be around 61 to 62 at 1600 rpm. I have let it idle but I raise the idea to 1000 rpm which helps with bring in the slide outs. This last time I was going through El Paso at 60 mph and when I was on the other side kick it up to 62. 65 miles later and before the campground the light came on. Now I have to drive back to El Paso with the hopes that it won't quit on me.

Remember 5875 miles is not a lot.

  4. We'll talk about bad luck. My 2014 Journey is down again and again because of the DEF. First time 2800 miles crushed hose and bad filter. Second time 3900 miles bad DEF from a Pilot by Lazydays new filter, pump and draining lines (not paid for under warranty).

Now again a bad sensor but not sure, well at least that is what the code says. With only 5875 miles. Stuck in Las Cruces NM. And having trouble getting into a Cummins shop or a Frieghtliner shop.

I really thinks this DEF system is a bad idea.

  5. I am getting 7 to 7.5 miles to the gallon of fuel. I was towing a 27 ft I closed trailer with a motorcycle and a car total weight was about 8000 lbs. I traded in the trailer for a tandom tow dolly total weight is now 5000 lbs. my mileage has improved to about 8 mpg. My motorhome is a 2014 Winnebago Journey 42ft w/tag axle. I think that my mileage is pretty good. My tach is at 1600 in 6th gear.

  6. I wish to thank all of you for for the many great ideas when I have had questions. I do have one more.

According to Winnebago Ind. if you have Corian top with scratches. They suggest using Comet and a green scouring pad. Then to polish with furniture polish or a good car wax. I have tried that in a small area, and it did not work like they said.

Newer models have a very glossy counter top. Our model is a Journey 2014 and the 2015 look a lot better.

    Are there any ideas?

  7. I know that there are a lot of good insurance companies out there. Right now I have Foremost with this motorhome. Before I had Farmers.

When I had Farmers the had glass coverage. Now that my agent has me with Foremost it seems that I have lost the glass coverage.

Is there any insurance out there that does cover glass?

  8. It maybe that the delivery drivers do say something, but the dealers don't act on it. The things that I have found now count up to 10 and so far I have been able to fix 8. Feel really lucky about that. The leaky side window dealer fixed the Matrix for TV's need to be fixed.

Dealer should have caught all of the problems.

  9. Congrats on the new coach. I know what you mean about getting the bugs out of a new coach. We own a 14 Winnebago Journey and are having some problems also. I guess they all have a break in period, not too be funny. But I do have to ask what was the DEF problem that you had and what was the part that needed to be replaced? I hope that everything goes well with your repairs and that your back on the road soon.
