Cummings 425, I'll do as Brett recommend.

Ray, mine does not sound bad, Linda has been behind me and knows when it's on, say's not like the sound a 18 wheeler makes.

Carl, on our coaches the compression brake, when working, also turns on the brake lights.

I change mine over to Aqua Hot at 40...woke up one morning and thought my AC was on, Lord it was cold, 34 outside & same inside!  Lesson learned as bm noted.

Exactly the same for me.  Below 40 they (mine at least) do not work on heat.  In fact, I'd rather not bother with the heat pump and use the AH.  The AH is quieter and provides much more evenly divided heat.

I would never store an RV without using a garage or at least a roof.  My last 3 motorhomes have been in the garage I built in 88.  They don't deteriorate like when left outside.

Gamecock1212 I agree with dd69, unless you bought an older starter model or one in poor shape.  We are on RV number six and all of the nicer ones were kept in covered and locked storage.  They do better out of the sun, hail, snow, etc.

We the super c owners are lucky as any truck shop will work on our rigs

    I own a Renegade 1816MG on a FL80 Freightliner chassis  3126 cat power

Same with our DPs.  Even Freightliner Oasis dealers, who claim to be MH friendly, are hesitant to work on them and can't get parts...and still charge $25 or more per hour when they do work on them.

  5. I just binged the 2020 Horizon 42Q.  The ad says it's all electric, but lists the amount of propane on board.  The very first thing I noticed in the picture is that the paint scheme on the sides of the coach does not carry on to the sides of the slides.  A minor point, but at nearly  $500k it should have that feature.  It does have the induction cooktop, Aqua Hot and and steerable tag.  The latter is getting to be standard on the higher end coaches.  IMHO, it's something else that can go wrong for very little benefit.  With a GCWR of over 60k, it might be a bit under powered with the 8.9L ISL 450 HP diesel.

Sounds like there could be several on here that were members of the Montana forum.  Like Wayne, we had a 3400RL, which was our first fiver, and finding that forum was perfect for us as a learning tool.

I also go back and visit their site from time to time.

Five, I know what you are saying.  There is still one older gentlemen on the Montana forum that will throw out misinformation from time to time.  Nothing about weights exactly.  If you correct him or disagree it will just go on and on, so it is better just to ignore his posts.

We had a 3400RL also.  Great floor plan.

...I have been a member of several RV forums since 2011.   Probably the best one was my first, a Keystone Montana owners group.  Very laid back and friendly with a ton of accurate knowledge not only about our common fivers but camping in general...

We bought an 07 Montana in June 2006 and I joined the Montana forum at that time.  It was full of good information, but one of the moderators, who has since died, drove a 3/4 ton truck hauling the biggest Montana.  He got upset when anybody pointed out how over weight he was after he made one of his "pulls fine" posts.  It got to the point when we just asked him to not make posts to new member trying to decide which truck to purchase since he was clearly biased and clearly giving wrong information.  Eventually he used his position and blocked several of us, including me.  I liked the forum so much, I got back on with a new screen name and maintained a low profile.  In fact I still know some people there and monitor the forum now and then.  It's still a very good forum.

Does anyone remember when so many actors and actresses said "If that persnon wins, I'm leaving the country." But yet they are still here. H,mmm. Get my point?

They are all talk and bluster, but no action.  The country would be better off if they would follow through....and leave!

Yes, I was in 1/12 FA and was a Section Chief of a Lance Missle.

I was in 1/12 FA when they were formed, early 70s.  I returned to Sill in '71 from my second VN tour (105 howitzer first tour, flew a Chinook second tour).  Since I was cannon artillery, they didn't want me in a firing battery, so I was the BC of Service Btry.

....So, my latest question for the forum is do newer ISB engines have a coolant filter and if "yes" where is the filter located?

Here is the link to the Cummins brochure with maintenance intervals for 6.7L ISB engines --> http://files.trypsi.com/cummins/maint_care/2013_ISB67_RVApps.pdf

    Your thoughts please !!....

If your engine has a coolant filter, it will have been put on by Freightliner....my engine does not have that filter.  Also, Cummins and Freighlinger will have different standards for maintenance procedures.  Freightlinger told me five years or 100,000 miles for changing coolant, which they put in, not the engine manufacturer.  My coolant is plain ethylene glycol, with SCA, Freightliner does not put in extended life coolant.  I have my transmission fluid tested every year, this year I'm going to have the coolant tested as well.  No point in changing either if the chemical analysis comes back good.
