  1. All these coaches are different when it comes to what is charging what. FWIW, here's how mine work:

    - When plugged into shore power. Coach batteries are charged. When that charge reaches 13.3, the system lets the charge pass through the coach batteries and the chassis batteries are charged, as long as that charge rate is 13.3 or higher.

    - When driving. Chassis batteries are charged. When that charge reaches 13.3, the system lets the charge pass through the chassis batteries to the coach batteries and the coach batteries are charged, as long as the charge rate is 13.3 or higher.

It might not make sense, but that's how it works.

...Assuming they are true to their word.... I'm really happy with the customer service I'm receiving.

I'll update you guys once we pick it up from REV Group in a couple of weeks!...

So far the only thing you have gotten is "lip" service.   Alvarado is good at that.  If they fix everything, and fix it correctly and on time, that will be much different than my multiple experiences there.

  3. Ameristar used to be a regular stop for us.  However, the spaces are short, and if you are just passing through the temp spaces are hard in which to get level.  Then on two consecutive occasions, our Visa was double billed, once for a four night stay.  Nearly took an act of congress to get that fixed and haven't been back since.

  4. Usually we run less than 10k a year. Therefore, any synthetic oil is over kill for our engine and generator.  In fact my owner's manual says to change the oil at 35k or one year, which ever comes first.  I use Rotella 15W40, and have used it on four diesels.  The beast I'm currently driving takes 42 quarts at oil change time.  Once out of warranty, I may do like I do with my Allison 4000 and have the oil sampled once year....and not change it annually.

  5. The Aqua Hot is a great system, but if it is really cold, it will not keep your dump T handles from freezing.  The way I keep anything from freezing is multiple trouble lights with 60 watt bulbs (old style that get warm).  On one winter trip...heading south...the Cummins never got over 180 degrees, even after driving all day.

  6. Here are a couple of suggestions, Joe:

    -  Brett's suggestion of Downtown Riverside, on the north bank of the AR River in Little Rock, is a Campground America CG.  However, I do not recommend the Clinton Library.
    -  Off I 40, Exit 108 Parker's Crossroads, Yuma, TN.  About 110 miles east of Memphis.
    -  Farther east off I 40, Exit 360 Soaring Eagles, listed in Lenoir City, a little west of Knoxville.

  7. Hi Ken...been reading your posts for years on different forums, had a different user name then.  Yours seem to be more of the level headed thought out kind posts than many....maybe that's because we agree on lots of RV topics.  Used to have an 07 Montana before getting in the MH business in 2010.  We pulled into a CG one evening when it was just getting dark, but about 45 degees and pouring rain...that was our last trip in the 5th wheel.
