Go to the Spartan seminars at the FMCA conventions and they will give you the all the maintenance procedures.
Yes, and at any other seminar or rally. We have Spartan reps at our coach rallies.

8.4 MPG, Cummins 8.9L ISL, 400 HP, 41', 34,000 lbs, cruise at 60 MPH (MPG goes down sharply above 60), tow a CRV 3,700 lbs. Coming up on 30,000 miles and MPG has improved.
I keep a log of three versions of MPG at each fill up: MPG off the computer, straight MPG calculated from miles traveled and gallons used, and last and most accurate, MPG calculated factoring in amount of fuel used in the generator, Aqua Hot and when at an idle.

Here's is one SE of ATL on I 85, Exit #56: S. Oaks Mobile Home and RV Park.

... So I assume Tow weight would be the same also 10,000 lbs...
Very few gassers on an F350 Class C chassis will have a 10k tow rating...normally 5k.
Your towing capacity is normally the lowest of:- GCWR minus weight of MH when ready to travel (loaded).- Hitch capacity.- MH tow capacity.- Chassis tow capacity...some times the last two are different. -
...if your not towing a trailer that is heavy the tag is not 100% essential. i would of gladly taken a tag coach over a single axle for my purposes but i haul a heavy stacker trailer behind me.....
I think you will find that a tag has nothing to do with tow capacity. My single axle AC has a tow capacity of 15k...as do all the ACs with tags.

We just bought a 42ft diesel pusher and need a tow vehicle.
We just test drove a 2006 CR-V and really like it.
Can you tell me more about yours? Is it manual or automatic? How hard was it to get the hook-ups in front installed? What about brakes? How is that handled in the CRV?
You sound happy with yours, would love to hear your overall experience with the CRV.
Thanks
All CRVs are automatic. The front hook up (called a base plate) needs to be attached to the car by an RV dealer who is authorized to service what ever tow system you get. I have Blue Ox. Once all the hardware is attached the hooking/unhooking of the CRV to the MH is very easy. It is a great all around vehicle and a perfect toad...light, reliable, versatile, seats five, economical...typical Honda.

....The Essex is definitely a higher level coach than the Eagle. The Eagle is the low end American Coach...
This information is not correct. The Eagle is the next to the top of the AC line, starting at around $625k. AC's line up is Revolution, Allegiance, Tradition, Eagle and Heritage.

I was unable to find parts for my old Spendide and had to replace it. Spendide is a great company and if he can find new parts by all means go that way. These units can be a bear to pull out and work on. If he wants to try a used part I am willing to pull it off the WD802 I took out of my coach. Just let me know.
Mike
Sent you a PM. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. He is researching the link in post #2. Here's the W/D info:
Splendide 2000
Model: WD 802
Serial #: 270163

We have some friends with a 20 year old Splendide that need a timer. They are camped in Biloxi, MS, and have tried all the local suppliers, RV dealers, Colaw, etc. Any ideas appreciated.

The problem I see is that if we have a super single and it fails...we have nothing. If an 18 wheeler has a set of super singles and one fails, he still has one to at least get him off the road.

Allegiance40x,
OK, got to ask, is D/W:
Dear Wife (yes, you are in trouble)
Dish Washer (you will probably be doing dishes for the foreseeable future.
D/W, in this case, is dish washer. However, the D/W (dear wife) has a D/W (dish washer)...me!
-
We are on our fifth RV, never had a D/W and don't want one. Much rather have the storage space. However, washer/dryer is mandatory.
-
As noted, maintenance is key. JMHO, Beaver is a class coach, but you are looking at 25 years old...that's pretty old, especially if it's been kept outside.

Here is a list of KIAs by state, all you have to do is click on MO and scroll down the list:
-
Normally US highways and state roads are okay. Some county roads can be narrow and the trees along the side may scrape your rig.
-
I don't know about the other manufacturers, but for the 2015 models Honda put the CVT(Continuously Variable Trans) trans in the CRV. They put it in the Accord a few years ago:

Coldcowboy,
Glad you got your problem solved. As a follow on comment, the GY/Michelin debate is just like a Chevy/Dodge/Ford/ debate. You can read any of these forums, and there are those with GYs that have wear problems and just as many Michelins with dry rot cracks and splits. I don't know how you come to a decision as to which to buy...other than price.

Here's what I did.
Called Spartan, got a very knowledgeable and helpful guy. He gave me the specs for both the front and rear axles. Then went to a big rig truck alignment shop. The tech checked the rear, it was WNL, then checked the front...off considerably. He aligned the front and gave me a print out of 'before' and 'after.'
Appreciate the help from all.

IMHO, there are two primary problems with a dolly:
- It takes considerably longer to get ready to move. When towing four down, you hook up the car and attach the safety and electrical cables...done.
- We have stayed in many CGs where there is no space to store a tow dolly. Plus, I don't have any place to store it at home.
-
Dump the air then put down the jacks. Also, FWIW, most folks believe it is not a good idea to run (idle) a diesel...unless you are really going to run it and take it for drive so all systems get up to operation temperature.
-
Okay, thanks. I'm in NW AR...Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers/Bentonville and Fort Smith, is to the south. It's an American Coach on a Spartan chassis, I'll call them in the AM.
-
Suspect he means there is no EASY way to align the rear wheels/axle.
Okay, so is it something I should find a shop that is willing to do...is it worth the cost? Any idea what that cost would be?

I have a full width rear rock guard on the back of the MH. To date, no dings on the tow vehicle.
