Did you want an electric freezer or were you looking for some kind of cheap option like a box with a lid and some dry ice?
"a chest type freezer designed for the basement of my rig" is different than anything you might find in a house so don't compare pricing for a mass produced 120V unit and the minimally produced 12V RV setups.
You can always look for used units, units listed on E-Bay and Craig's List, etc., but the reality is that this kind of a product is not going to be cheap. My coach came with one which I immediately threw in the trash. I just don't want to keep more stuff in my coach than necessary so when I need something I go to the store and buy it. YMMV!

The only difference between this and that old commercial is that once you own and RV it's "Pay me now AND pay me later"!

I am sorry to hear that you did not find the feedback from Winegard and the Winegard forum to be enough information. The fact that you know you damaged the antenna would lead me to suggest that you might want to take it to a repair facility where a more detailed analysis of the problem can be done. If you have warped the reflector you may never lock on since the signal would no longer be focused on the LNB's. If you damaged a cable or an LNB you would also end up with no signal.
Does the display ever show that it is peaking or identifiy anything?

In the SW there are lots of BLM sites available. Scenic? Do you like vast wastelands? Free sites are generally free because there is Government land or nobody would want to stay there for long (like Wal-Mart). By the way, what's wrong with Wal-Mart? Lots of casinos have free or very cheap parking, There are sites on the internet which offer free camping ideas so you might want to give Google a try. Depending upon where you are going, whether you want to just "be there" or whether you want to be where you can visit attractions will dictate where a good location to stay would be. What good is free if you have to travel 50 miles to the place you want to visit?

Based upon the information I found in the owners manual link above, it would appear that your Bounder uses a Video Control Center. Here, you will find a series of push buttons for TV, VCR and Cable. If this controller has more than those 3 selections for each TV then the power supply is a part of that video control center. If the one you have only has those 3 options then you will find the Winegard power supply in a nearby cabinet. It is sometimes on the roof of the cabinet so look carefully. It will be a standard looking wall plate that might or might not also have a 12V cigarette lighter adapter but will most likely have a connection for a coax cable (which you don't use). You are looking for a TINY push button or slide switch that light a very small LED (usually green) when on and no LED lit when off (allowing the cable to pass through).

The Genset should have its own fuel filter.

I think there might have been a typo there. I think he meant the tires were replaced in 2005. The tires would have had to have been replaced 4 years after the coach was new and then never replaced again.
So, assuming the tires are 7+ years old you just need to inspect the tread, ensure there is no flat spotting from being parked for many years and then absolutely! have the coach professionally inspected bumper to bumper. I assure you that there is stuff wrong that even the owner is not aware of. Be aware that there will always be something wrong somewhere as RV's are just on-going repair projects so a few problems is not a reason not to buy the unit, just a reason to make an informed purchase.

Do you have propane in the tank? Is the propane valve fully opened at the tank? Does you gas stove light?

Check again with KVH and ask if there is a different setting for either the D12 and the D12D-100? I believe that there is only one setting but it would not hurt to ask. You said before that you had checked the switch, was that the unit in the satilite dome? I had to remove the dome cover and set them to Dish when I bought my coach.

There is no such option with the KVH antennas. You have to have a dealer connect a laptop to the computer port and upload the software to change services. This is also usually necessary if an update has not been done recently and my well be what ljborba needs to get the antenna working correctly.

No, the D12D-100 is just a version of the D12 and should work with your antenna.

According to the owners manual the only receivers verified to work (at the time of printing) was the D10, 11 and 12.
You will have to go into the Repeat Satellite Setup and ensure that you antenna type is set properly. I would recommend that you use 18" round but you may find that 2-LNB or 3-LNB is required depending upon how KVH set things up.

What kind of money are you talking about as far as the "initial cost varies"? Can you then re-sell that when you stop RVing to recoup some of the costs? Do I understand that there are only a total of 90 parks covering the entire US (Canada?).

Didn't you also have to pay a membership fee to join plus the annual fees? Are you on one of their limited area plans or does it cover the entire US. How many parks are there and doesn't that limit your choices as to where you can camp?
Just curious as I have never been involved with any of the membership parks.

I can tell you already how it will turn out. Some of your stays will be excellent, some you will have mixed emotions over and some you will write in your "don't return" list. KOA does not equal KOA. Some are good, some are bad and some are somewhere in-between. Hum, after typing that I realized that a KOA is just like every other campground you will visit. Some you will love, some you will hate and some will fall somewhere in-between.

While I never make KOA my first choice, KOA is sometimes the most logical choice. When I do have to make KOA my destination I am glad that I have my Value Card as it has saved me a bunch of money over the years compared to staying and not taking advantage of this option. We saved nearly 1/2 the site cost on one visit with points we had accumulated in previous stays. We stay where we stay based upon where we want to visit and sometimes that's a KOA. Why would I give up free incentives when I was going to stay there anyway?

You will save money by buying a coach that does not require DEF. Coaches built before this requirement will not have any ongoing issues that should prevent you from buying one.

Newell/Prevost is one "class" of RV generally considered a bus conversion (although the Newell is hand built as an RV) and will cost substantially more than any "standard" RV of comparable year, size and configuration. Each one is custom built and no 2 are alike. You will need to do a lot of research on each specific unit. The economy has drastically cut the price of these units, however, so there are some very good values on the market right now.
In the production RV line, Tiffin has an excellent reputation as a company and as a product.
You might want to Google the Tiffin RV Forum where you can get some information from the horse's mouth.

I don't believe anyone recommends towing from the rear. One the Demco site, this note appears at the bottom of the page.
CAUTION: Read your motor vehicle owners manual to determine proper towing procedure. All vehicles must be towed with the front axle on the auto transport.

Get the biggest fridge you can fit in the hole! You (or your DW) will appreciate the difference for a long time down the road.
